Looking to start karate for you or your family members?

We are an inclusive club and start from 4 years old and upwards. Our oldest student is well into their 70’s.

In this attached video clip we have a 7 year old student from one of our sister clubs in Osaka performing a kata under the watchful eye of one of our senior teachers, Maekawa Sensei who recently had his 80th birthday.

Training is for all ages and abilities and is a healthy option for exercise and new learnings.
We do successfully compete in tournaments however this is not our only focus, as we also teach traditional karate and self defence.

We welcome all.

Footage of the men’s 5 person teams Kumite semifinals.

In the final the local team Yokohama played against Kyoto.
The first match was a draw, the second and third matches Yokohama won, the fourth it was full points to Kyoto, leaving them with a chance to win if they clocked maximum points in the final. Well, that they did, winning the fifth match very comprehensively and taking the title on a count back of point. It was a very exciting final to watch.

Such an experience here in Yokohama. Thank you for the welcome and training laid on by our Jitsuei Kai honbu dojo in Osaka, as well as our friends from the Singapore branch of Jitsueikai. It is a joy to strengthen our relationships annually here in Japan and up-skill as teachers and students. Passing on at our club is a benefit for all.
The past few days at the JKF seminar and now at this tournament has been such a good experience.

Incredibly grateful to be part of such a well established karate organisation.

NZ Open, well done team. We placed well considering the size of our few entries. It was Charlotte, Julian, Matilda, Artem, Indie and Arlo's first Karate Auckland tournament, so great results guys with your 3 golds and silver and bronze medals. The boys in the team fight, we gave away a lot of height that mattered not, as the ability to stay mobile was such a strength. Nice work with your bronze medal boys. To our experienced others, you represented yourself to the highest level. Gemma fought out of her skin, walking on to the mat with a fantastic mindset and preparation. Ella Harris finishing second place to Juliet McLaughlan, it was lovely to see the two top NZ women's kumite athletes compete in the final together. That was of no surprise when you see them train on a Wednesday night, and at the Canterbury regional trainings.

Keep going.
