TODAY’S CLUB DAY CANCELLED

Unfortunately, the weather has started to pack in and with the forecast showing the rain intensifying, we’ve made the call to cancel today’s club day.

Not what we wanted, but seeing as it’s Father’s Day, maybe Mother Nature is giving all the dads at the club a well-earned day off from racing!

A big Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads and father figures in our Harewood RC family. We hope you have a great day with the family — and maybe even manage to sneak in a bit of RC tinkering in the shed!

Weather Watch for Tomorrow

Unfortunately, the weather isn’t looking too promising for racing tomorrow.

We’ll keep an eye on the conditions overnight and make the final call at 7:00am tomorrow morning.

Please keep an eye on the Harewood RC page around 7am for an update confirming whether racing is going ahead, postponed or cancelled.

Fingers crossed the weather plays ball and we can get some racing in.

HAREWOOD RC CLUB – LAP DAY RECAP

A great day at the Harewood track yesterday for our latest Lap Day!

The track was in really good shape — not too wet, not too dry — and the cool, overcast conditions made for a good day of racing. Best of all, the rain that was forecast never eventuated!

We had a great turnout across both E-Buggy and Nitro, with plenty of track time throughout the day.

Race format:
• 4 qualifying rounds
• 2 × 10-minute E-Buggy mains
• 20-minute Nitro main

A big thank you to everyone who turned up, raced, supported the club and helped out throughout the day. These events only run smoothly because people are willing to pitch in, and it's very much appreciated.

Great racing, good company and plenty of laps — exactly what a Harewood club day should be!

Club Day Weather Update!

The weather is looking pretty good, with just a little light rain currently showing around 11am–12pm.

With that in mind, we may get racing underway a little earlier than advertised to make the most of the conditions!

Come prepared and try to get there nice and early so you’re ready to go.

AUGUST LAPS DAY — TOMORROW AT HAREWOOD!

It’s race time again! Come on down to Harewood Radio Controlled Car Club, 555 Sawyers Arms Road tomorrow for our August Laps Day.

Whether you’re racing, thinking about getting into RC, or just looking for something different to do with the kids, you’re more than welcome to come along. Spectating is FREE! 🙌

If you’re planning to race tomorrow, please get your entry registered on the NZRCA event page TODAY. We need the entries in so the event can be set up tonight and we’re ready to go in the morning.

Saturday Schedule
• 8:00am — Gates open
• 9:15am — Drivers briefing
• 9:30–9:45am — Racing gets underway
• 3 × 7-minute qualifying rounds — best run counts
• Electric — Double mains
• Nitro — 15-minute main

Race format and timetable may change depending on entry numbers, weather and Race Control.

Never seen 1/8 scale RC racing before? Come and check it out. These aren’t just toys — they’re proper racing machines and there’ll be plenty of action around the track!

Bring the kids, have a look around the pits and meet the Harewood crew. We’re a friendly club and always happy to talk RC, help newcomers and show people what the hobby is all about.

Got an RC car at home? Bring it along!

Big kids and little kids are welcome to bring their own RC cars down. During the lunchtime break, we’ll open the track up and give you a chance to have a run.

Travelling from Out of Town?

We have a limited number of gazebos and pit tables available for travelling competitors.

If you require a gazebo, pit table, or assistance with airport transport on Sunday, please contact the committee before the event and we'll do our best to help.

⚡ Power will be available via a club generator for competitors. To help manage fuel consumption and ensure power is available for everyone throughout the weekend, we ask competitors to minimise the use of heat guns where possible.

🍔 Food & Refreshments

Food and drinks will be available for purchase on Saturday and Sunday. Both online payment and cash will be accepted, so you'll be covered whichever way you prefer to pay.

Harewood Radio Control Car Club Harewood Champs 9th thru 11th October

What a fantastic day of racing at Harewood RC Club!

Despite a frosty start and a very soggy track first thing this morning, the day turned out to be an absolute cracker. A huge thank you to everyone who jumped in early to help de-water (or should we say de-ice! 😄) the track and spread sawdust. Your efforts made a massive difference, and as the day went on the surface progressively dried out, offering more grip and making for some great racing.

The sunshine came out, the banter was flowing, the cars got thoroughly filthy, and we enjoyed a full day of close, competitive racing. Days like today are what club racing is all about.

A special thank you also goes to everyone who gave up their time to help with yesterday's BBQ. Your hard work behind the scenes has certainly not gone unnoticed and is greatly appreciated. It's volunteers like you who help make our club such a great place to race.

Thanks to everyone who came along, raced, helped out, and made today another memorable club day. We look forward to seeing you all at the next one!
