Just a little note to say - I’m very much still here 🤍
I may not post often (cough cough), but I’m still busy supporting families through sleep and feeding challenges (and celebrating lots of wins! )
So if you’ve found this page and are wondering... yes I am still taking bookings and would love to help :)))

Daylight savings - the clocks change this weekend on Saturday night / Sunday morning. ⏰
There’s no right or wrong way to manage the clock change, but I’ve popped a few options on the slides above. (Though am a little late for option one, but you can still start shifting your wee ones routine from today if you like!)
It will start to become lighter in the mornings again ☀️ from next week. (Which I’m quite looking forward to!)
Best of luck with whatever you decide to do!
P.s. I have plenty of the .co static film blinds in stock again if anyone needs any as they usually sell out in the weeks after the clocks change!

✨✨✨ I’ve been quiet on social media lately, hiding behind the scenes doing some study again! The paper I’m working towards through Otago University is called Perinatal Mental Health. Last year I completed the Infant Mental Health paper, now I’m deep into the Maternal Mental Health one.
✨
I wanted to share that this study isn’t just for my own growth—it’s for you! My goal is to deepen my understanding of how sleep and feeding issues, mental health, and perinatal care all intersect, so I can better support you and your whānau. You and your tamariki’s well-being is always at the heart of what I do, and this study will help me bring even more effective, compassionate care to those I work with 💖
Thank you for your ongoing support and trust (and patience for the wait to work with me while I have limited bookings available!). Please reach out if you have any questions! :)))

🌙 There is a common misconception that sleep training can have a negative impact on breastfeeding, so I wanted to dive deeper into this topic looking at some of the myths and facts.

.. The Catnapping Cycle ..
A catnap is generally a nap lasting between 30-45 minutes. In the early weeks of the newborn stage, babies often do longer stretches of day sleep linking sleep cycles, though by the time 4 months comes around, you may find they have trouble doing this and their naps have shortened to 30-45 minutes (or sometimes only 20 minutes which is a clear sign baby is overtired as they are struggling to transition from the light sleep to deep sleep phase)
As a result of shorter naps, they will often struggle to stay awake (for an age appropriate time) and want to go back to sleep, but may struggle here and fight falling asleep due to being overtired.
When I'm working with families with babies between 4 - 8 months old, catnapping is a common theme happening for them, as well as having disrupted nights.
This is because shorter naps leads to overtiredness. Overtiredness leads to increased night waking. This leads to baby being tired during the day.... and the catnapping cycle continues.
Catnapping can also be due sleep associations, feeds / solids schedule and sleep environment.... awake windows are just one of the things we look at when helping resolve any catnapping issues!
Drop any questions below if you have any queries about your baby's awake windows and naps :)

Hey Team! I'm asking for some help for another of my assignments.
This one involves volunteering yourself (Mum or Dad) and your toddler aged between 1 - 3 years for a short "movie" approx 15 - 20 minutes long.
You would need to sign a written consent form stating you agree to it being viewed by the small group of students doing the course with me and the course Co-ordinator (a child psychatrist) to build our skills in understanding parent - infant interactions.
Confidentiality is of utmost importance. You are welcome to have a copy of the video sent to you.
When: Monday 3rd, Wednesday 5th or Thursday 6th of April between 9.15am-2.45pm. You’d be here for about 60 minutes.
Where: My house in Riccarton
As much as I’d like to see your other pēpi, the requirement is 1 adult & 1 child for filming 💜
To show my appreciation and gratitude, I'd welcome you both to join me in morning or afternoon tea (I’d provide), hear about what's happening for your little person and yourselves and offer any sleep & feeding advice for now or for what may be around the corner for them. And if you don’t already have my Toddler Guide, I’ll give this to you. 😊
p.s. thanks so much to Nadia for allowing me to observe her gorgeous wee baby for my first assignment 🥰
Please let me know ASAP if you’d be keen for this!
