Congrats to Canterbury Knights co-captain Marty Davison for taking the next step in his International refereeing journey. He refereed his first FIBA Qualifying match between Korea and Thailand in Seoul, South Korea. Marty refereed more Australian NBL matches this season and is on the NZ NBL panel for the upcoming season. All the best for your refereeing future and finding some time on the side to play with the Knights! You are a role model for all aspects of the game, on and off the court!

The Canterbury Knights are so proud of our inspirational leader Derek Albertsen and what he did for us over in Melbourne. Living above the line, playing for each other, creating a legacy, semi-professional environment, next man up. Check out the full Tour recap here and how all the guys contributed:

From Sharon:
Last game of the Melbourne tour tips off at 9pm NZT against the Sthn Peninsula Sharks. We are down to 7 players with Marty (departed the tour yesterday to get back home), and the purple guys (on account of the colour of their ankles) Derek and Joel injured. But this is a great chance for the young ones to step up. Here is the live stats feed and the livestream will be on Piet Van Hasselt FB page.

KNIGHTS FINISH MCKINNON INVITATIONAL SECOND
The Canterbury Knights completed the McKinnon Invitational Tournament in Melbourne with a 3-1 record against some strong teams from the Big V State Championship and NBL1 leagues. The team was without their emotional leader with Derek Albertsen forced to the sidelines after injuring his ankle the day prior at the end of a training session. This didn’t stop Derek from contributing as an assistant coach and helping the team succeed. The Knights finish up their trip on Tuesday night against the Southern Peninsula Sharks at 9pm NZ Time (Facebook Live and Livestats will be available). Full tour wrap coming up.
