What a great day for our second novice shoot On Sunday

17 people turned up, and we ran two traps again—one with straight-away targets and the other with oscillating targets. We had five new shooters join us, who brought their own guns, along with two returning shooters. We set the returning shooters on the oscillating field.

A few of the new shooters had been shooting hand-loaded shells, and they said the speeds felt a bit quicker—and because we stand further back on that field, it definitely made for an interesting challenge.

The other 10 shooters were on the beginners’ trap, and with a bit of coaching they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

All in all, it was another great day—well done everyone!

Hey everyone don’t forget about our Clay Target Shooting for New Shooters this Sunday
To encourage new members and introduce more people to the sport, we are starting a monthly practice shoot for beginners, novice shooters, and anyone interested in giving clay target shooting a try.
No fi****ms licence is required to participate, as full supervision will be provided. New shooters will receive an introduction to the sport, safety instruction, and basic coaching.
Costs
5 targets for $2.00
Please bring your own $2.00 coins if possible.(cash only)
Ammunition
Available for purchase at $18.00 per packet (25 rounds).
A fi****ms licence is required to purchase ammunition.
New shooters without a fi****ms licence are welcome to use ammunition under supervision during the session. Any unused rounds must remain at the club and cannot be taken away.
Fi****ms
Club fi****ms can be made available for visitors who would like to try the sport.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Starting 2 August
If you know someone who would like to give clay target shooting a go, bring them along or pass this information on to them.
There will also be an opportunity for existing club members to get some extra practice.

Vale Shield Shoot
A cool start to the day soon warmed up, especially around the fire. We had a fantastic turnout with 87 shooters from clubs across Canterbury.
We started with a 25 Target Points Score.

A great day was had by everyone.
