Barnett Park. 15 April 2026

On 15th April, the Avon Tramping group started at Barnett Park, went up to the cave, then onto Mt Pleasant via the Eastenders track

Mt Cass, 8 April 2026

On a lovely sunny day, the Avon Tramping Club set off to climb Mt Cass. This track is just under 8km with a vertical climb of around 375m. A good time was had by all.

Godley Head, 1 April 2026

A glorious day to walk to Godley Head. Di and Wendy started from Sumner while the rest of us, feeling a bit lazy, started from Taylor's Mistake

Bowenvale Valley, 18 March 2026

The Avon Tramping Club had a lovely day heading up Bowenvale, Sugarloaf, via Sign of the Kiwi and back to Bowenvale

Lake Daniells, 25-26 Febuary, 2026

Eleven of us from the Avon Tramping Club had a wonderful two days walking into Lake Daniells. The weather was kind and the trail very well maintained, although there was a lot of evidence of trees down fairly recently. The hut is wonderful. A few of us went for a swim in the lake and that night we played Quidler.

Allandale to Governor's Bay, 11 February, 2026

We had a great turn out for our tramp from Allandale to Governor's Bay via O'Farrell's Track. We picked blackberries on the way and the blackberries got their revenge on some of us!

We climbed Mt Herbert from the Purau Saddle. A lovely day with clear views for 360 degrees

A hot and windy day, didn't stop the intrepid Avon Tramping Club members from going into Bowenvale and climbing up the Hidden Valley track. A highlight was the beautiful flax flowers (harakeke)

A glorious day in the Adventure Park. After the climb up to glorious views for our lunch break, we spoiled ourselves with a chair lift ride down again

A beautiful tramp at Hinewai, led by Wendy. Plenty of water in the waterfalls.
