The 2020 winter season has finally started! We had a loss last week and a draw today.

Well done to all players, umpires, and everyone helping to get the season underway.

UPDATE: NNZ have announced a Return to Play on or after 19 June 2020. Christchurch Netball and all clubs must ensure that all required measures are in place before we can resume play safely and confidently by this time.

UPDATE: netball clubs are still in the preparation phase of getting the 2020 season going. There is a lot to consider, but we hope to have some further updates for you soon!

Covid 19 coronavirus: Community sport only allowed at alert level 2 with 10 or fewer people Community sport will be allowed when the country moves to level 2 - but with restrictions.

Update for the 2020 Netball Season:

Christchurch Netball (as well as other winter sports around the country) are trying their best to get the 2020 season going. However this will not go ahead until we reach level 1. So it will likely be later in the year.

From Christchurch Netball Newsletter:

"Netball is currently classified as a contact sport and until it is defined otherwise for all intents and purposes will remain referred to as a ‘contact’ sport. Therefore it is not able to be played under current guidelines until New Zealand goes to Level 1. It is important to clarify that Level 2 at this stage is a preparation stage."

UPDATE

Just to let you know that due to the current circumstances at the moment we obviously will not be running trials on Sunday 29th March.

At this point we will have to see what happens in the next few weeks and whether the season will go ahead, delayed or cancelled all together.
