It was great to have Steve McKenzie sensei from the Western Sydney University kendo club in Australia to come visit us and have some keiko during his visit in New Zealand.

Steve sensei you are always welcome to come and train at our dojo and we look forward to training with you in Australia in the near future.

What a fantastic weekend at the New Zealand National Kendo Championships, hosted by the in Wellington!

A huge congratulations to Chris and Masa for taking 1st place in the Kata competition, and to Jerry for earning the Fighting Spirit Award with his determined performances.

We were also proud to have some of our club's best representing Canterbury in both the Men's Individual and Men's Team events. Competing at a national level is always a valuable experience, and we're proud of the effort, sportsmanship, and dedication shown by everyone who stepped onto the court.

A big thank you to Yoshinkan Kendo Club, the officials, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this year's championships a success.

Congratulations to all competitors—we're already looking forward to competition in Dunedin for the South Island Championships! ⚔️
