Mavs go down 2-1 to Ferrymead Bays Baby Blues @ Ferrymead Park.

The Mavs took a 1-0 lead, but ultimately conceded two soft goals in the second half to finish the season.

POD was split between two attackers R Anderson & J Davies who lead the Mavs attack. Special mention also has to go to other strike partner R Thompson who finally put in a full 90min shift after a strict training regime in the lead up to today's match.

Once again, thank you Pizza Republic Ferrymead for the after game spread.

Mavs get the W with a 4-2 win over SAS ThunderPanthers at Avonhead Park.

POD was awarded to LB D Lock who had a solid game in both defence and building attacks from the back. Unfortunately he also received an air conditioning upgrade to his drivers side window by someone who couldn't leave other people's stuff alone.

Today also saw some great examples of sideline first aid, with the bench putting their heads together and using the sponsors ice cold nectar to soothe the result of a rash and unpunished challenge to our CMs ankles from behind. Merrin Street Brewery Bar also came to the party with some ice during the aftermatch bevvies!!

The Mavs went down to Western AFC Rhinos 5-3 at Elmwood Park.

The first half goal box gave no favours to the Mavs defence as the Rhinos made the most of their chances from the bobble, but the Mavs still pegged back 2 to be 3-2 down at the break. A penalty in the second half brought the scores level, but 2 quick finishes by the Rhinos front line put the game to bed.

POD was shared between #9 R Anderson and converted midfield anchor T Wilson, both moving the ball around the pitch and creating opportunities going forward. Special mention also goes to D Silveira who played an instrumental part in 2 of the goals, leaving a few more on the pitch as well.

Mavs went down 4-0 to Halswell United Firebirds in a poor showing at Avonhead Park.

Lots of whining, lots of 'robust' challenges, and some questionable attitudes ultimately culminated in a skewed scoreline and rough day at the office. I guess that's Div3 footy for you...🙄

POD was awarded to RB G Parry (pictured with his two biggest fans) who was everywhere up and down his side of the park, showing some much younger opposition the legs still have it 💪

Mavs return to winning ways, defeating Waimak Reserves 5-1 at a boggy Kendal Park.

POD was awarded to GK O Thomas who kept the often offside Waimak strikers at bay, and playing the second half in a six yard box which can only be described as a muddy swimming pool. His 'Dad' (pictured) could not have been prouder.

R Anderson was awarded a highly commended award for hitting a hatrick, but in true Mavs tradition could not be awarded the POD gong.

After 4 long weeks off the pitch the Mavs would have been better staying indoors as they were beaten 3-0 by Bombers on a sopping wet Avonhead Park pitch.

Much of the Mavs attack went through RB D Thomson, including his long throws, which culminated in his first ever shot on target. For this he was voted the player of the day.

Unfortunately for Dan, he was also awarded the Dick of the Day award (pictured) as he completed the full warm up with his shorts inside out. Truly the highlight of today's performance.

Mavs put five past Methven Football Club at home under the OHPs.

The Mavs put on a first half master class, scoring 5 unanswered goals to go into the half against the Mountaineers the dominant side. CO-POD Winger R Anderson was all over his opposition defender, setting up two and striking home a penalty too. The second half saw GK and co POD T Wilson pull off some solid saves to keep the clean sheet and the Methven strikers with a plumb to take back on the long drive west.

The win puts a stop to the losing streak in style over a side the Mavs are yet to taste victory against.

Final result 5-0 Mavs.

Another tough day on a heavy track in Ilam with the Mavs going down 5-0 to UC 3rd XI.

The POD was awarded to D Silveira who put in a solid shift on the wing.

Tough day at the office as the Mavs go down 6-3 to the covertly named Parklands Reserves.

The scoreline had been pegged back to 3-3 but a dubious sin bin, an empty bench and a few unawarded fouls exposed the Mavs defence to some clinical finishing by the Parklands forward line. A late flurry by the Mavs couldn't put away their chances to close the difference.

POD was awarded to the G Parry, playing up and down the flanks in attack and defence, causing havoc for the Parklands wingers. Special mention to GK T Wilson who pulled off some stunning saves in both halves to keep the score more 'respectable'.

Mavs go down from winning position to Burwood AFC Reserves.

The Mavs went in to the half with the lead but could not hold on in the Clare Park bog with a howling wind in their face to take the three points.

POD and enigmatic midfielder J Varty had put the Mavs in the lead and was silky throughout the game.

Mavs lose close battle 3-2 to Ferrymead Bays Baby Blues.

Another tough encounter saw the Mavs go down in consecutive fixtures, pe***ng back the Baby Blues twice before a late penalty was converted by GK Buchanan.

POD was awarded to industrious midfielder J Varty who scored the first Mavs equaliser and was ever present in the heart of the park.

The Mavs have defaulted Monday's fixture against Thunderpanthers to maintain a sense of sensibility for the long weekend.

Mavs fall 4-3 after a late comeback by Parklands.

After leading 3-1 late in to the game, three quickfire tap ins dropped the Mavs out of the points.

POD was awarded to CM N King who was a dominant presence in the middle of the park, booming in the third goal from wide into the back side netting.

Thanks to the Turf Tavern for the aftermatch hospitality!
