In the weekend we were honoured to send 4 teams to the Global Games tournament (kinda in Queenstown)...
With torrential downpours on Thursday it meant Friday was cancelled, but the weekend showed up sun, wind and so off to rugby they went.

🏉The undefeated U10's are a hearty bunch of players- with these young all blacks giving it there all & even coming home with the U10s Champions trophie- massive congrats & well deserved!

🏉Next up the U11's showed up in more ways than one! They all wore the Cromwell colours with pride, gave it 150% & had heaps of fun along the way.

🏉And then came the undefeated U12's .... this strong determined team played with all of their heart and soul all weekend- they gave it 150% wearing our jersey with pride.

🏉And lastly-but deffinately not least, was the combined team of the U13's. This strong & determined team pulled together from around the district to make a competitive team of capable players. Lots of fun was had and they didn't give up all weekend!

🏉MASSIVE special thanks to Jason, Adrian, Kate, Chad, Mark, Murray, Matt, Kane, Ben & Rhys for thier commitment to coaching these teams to get them ready for the Global games. And to the players & parents for making it happen- see you all in 2027

Thank you for your patience as we work through these tricky logistics.
The good news is…there will be some footy tomorrow!

The Council have approved us to use the 2 x half fields in the Oval and 1 x full field at Queenstown Events Centre plus a full field each at 2 x other locations in the region:

🏉Jack Reid Park - 9 Suffolk Street, Arrowtown

🏉Anderson Park – Cromwell

Everyone has 2 x games tomorrow

🏉U10’s and U11’s will all be at the Queenstown Events Centre

🏉U12’s and U13’s will be spread between the Events Centre, Arrowtown and Cromwell

We are so sorry for the inconvenience but this is the only way we can get the games in tomorrow

We are hoping to have at least 1 x game each team Sunday but have to wait for approval from Council tomorrow before we can confirm this

Each location will have a Global Games team of refs, management and medics

Clubrooms will be open at both Arrowtown and Cromwell, special thanks to the local Clubs for, as always, being so supportive

Please ensure you take all waste away with you – you can bring back to Without Waste Tent at the Events Centre to sort suitable recycling

There will not be an Opening Ceremony unfortunately as we want to prioritise the rugby but we will have a Management Meeting at the Events Centre 8am upstairs in HQ above the grandstand)

Tomorrow’s draw is as above– we are working hard to make this live on Sporty with new grounds – this will appear on your app when it updates overnight

Massive congrats to Tayler McLachlan who was named in the Otago Country U14 festival squad. We are extremely proud of him and wish him well for the tournaments!
