A great grading tonight from our first whole family! Jake and Dane graded to blue belt, and Emily graded to white. First time for Emily and she stepped up to the challenge!

We focused on women's self defence tonight, using scenarios people bought in. We looked at what to do if you get choked or grabbed from behind, as well as if someone pushes you too the ground. The problem solving was fantastic from everyone and used techniques and ideas from white belts with extension.

First grading for 2025, Jake and Dane Atkins graded to yellow belt. They were supported by a great contingent of white belts and newcomers who were impressed with their effort!

Last week was a great reintroduction to the year, lots of white belt grappling takedowns. Finally we were able to have a focus on female self defence, led by instructor Rae. With our growing female contingent, we look forward to increasing the confidence of women in our communities.
