Otago Student Surf Comp - Board Bash

Signing off the Otago Board Bash Surf Comp! What an absolute rager of a night to top off an incredible day of surfing at St Kilda Beach.

Could have never expected such a surreal day, with some of the best waves ever seen at St Kilda, and some of the best surfers and has ever seen.

Thank you to everyone who helped out and support the event. Big thank you to the judges for getting stuck into it, for being an absolute legend all day, the Red Bull crew for looking after everyone and keeping the energy high, for supplying the gear, for making sure our winners were fed, and to all the crew that helped in the planning and ex*****on of Dunedin’s very own university surfing competition.

To see the student surf culture in full action before the contest even began all the way until the early hours the next morning was the best community feeling the comp could have ever hoped for!

Thanks for coming everyone, and keep an eye out at the end of the year because Otago Board Bash will be back!!!

Welcome to Otago Board Bash surf comp! Dunedins first university surfing competition. The event will be held at St Kilda Beach on the 2nd of May (back up day on the 3rd).

Students from and will have an excuse more than UV 6 to come down to the beach, meet a whole lot of cool like minded people, and have an epic time enjoying surfing together.

Registrations will open on Wednesday (22nd of April) and is only open to current students from University of Otago and Otago polytechnic. Student ID’s will be required.

This event is for all surfing levels (As long as you can stand up on a board and look after yourself in the water) so bring out the board in the corner of your rooms and get amongst the spot prizes like worst wipe out and best claim!!

There’s a massive student surf community in Dunedin so thought it’s about time for everyone to meet!
