Tainui Croquet Club

Congratulations to all those from Tainui who were awarded trophies at today’s OCA Annual General Meeting. Linda Martin & Carol Brown won the OCA Association Croquet Shield, Linda Martin and Paul Clark won Div 1 Golf Croquet, and Sue Graham and Colin Day (absent) won Div 2 Golf Croquet.

The Tainui Croquet Club held their 97th AGM this morning and are grateful to all those who attended. The club members present agreed to undertake the building of the new clubrooms which is exciting for all of us, and we will continue to finalise the budget and apply for funds. Our Prizegiving was held after the AGM and congratulations to all of those who were recognised. In a change of routine this year the hoop was run for the end of the season in the AGM meeting room. Thanks Brigid. It may officially be the end of our season but it is in name only for Tainui. Our season continue through the whole year.

It’s cheese roll production time for the Tainui Croquet Club today. 1000 doz to be rolled! Thanks to Bayfield High School for the use of their Foods Room for production, and to everyone who placed an order. This venture will provide a useful addition to our building fund.

There were perfect conditions for croquet at the Tainui Croquet Club today where the Margaret Dunning Handicapped Singles competition was held. Congratulations to Peter George who won the event, with Denise Gray coming second. Thanks to Lexie Arnott for managing the event.
