He mihi nui ki a koutou katoa

Last week Otago Polyfest gave us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our tamariki and rangatahi showcasing the very best of Maori and Pasifika cultures, talent, confidence and pride. We loved celebrating alongside our local schools and seeing our young people proudly representing their cultures throughout the week.
To everyone who made Polyfest possible, from the hosts and organisers the kaiako, whānau and volunteers, ngā mihi ki a koutou for the incredible mahi and aroha that goes into creating such a special celebration every year for our rangatahi and wider community village.

And the celebration continues this week with celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, providing another important opportunity for us to celebrate, learn, korero and strengthen te reo Māori within our everyday lives and our mahi at OYWT.

A huge heartfelt thanks to Tim, Julieann, Maddi and Vanessa from local Dunedin business Trends for their incredibly generous surprise donation to us here at OYWT last Friday.

We are truly grateful to have been chosen as this years charity recipient and your kindness means more than words can express. At a time when many young people and their whānau are facing real economic pressure, support like this helps us to continue our important work in the community.

We are so grateful to William Sherriff Charitable Trust for providing funding to purchase this fantastic new vehicle from the great team at Andrew Simms Dunedin following the expansion of our Attendance Service. This allows us to continue to support young people wherever they be across schools, home or the wider community.
