This week Kōkiri farewells Jamahl, our administrator and receptionist. Jamahl has been the steady, friendly presence at Kōkiri, greeting visitors, supporting our tauira, and helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
He now leaves us to begin his own university study journey. We are incredibly proud of him for taking this step and investing in his future.
Thank you for your dedication and positive energy Jamahl,
Wishing you every success in this next chapter. 😄

🌿 Kōkiri is beginning the year with gratitude and a special welcome back 🌿
We’d like to begin the year by acknowledging the contribution of Amy Cameron, who supported our Whānau Ora Level 3 programme as kaiako over the past 18 months. We thank her for the care, dedication, and commitment she brought to this mahi.
We’re also pleased to welcome Lisa back to teaching as our Whānau Ora Level 3 kaiako following the completion of her Whānau Ora Navigator secondment.
Nau mai, hoki mai Lisa!

It is in moments like these that we are reminded why we love our mahi.
On the 4th of July, we celebrated the achievements of our Level 3 and Level 4 Whānau Ora tauira as they graduated from their respective programmes. This was our largest graduation to date and marked the first time a Whānau Ora Level 4 group has completed their journey with Kōkiri. The overwhelming support from whānau and hāpori highlighted the immense pride felt throughout the whare.
Our tauira came from many walks of life, with different experiences and journeys but what united them was their commitment to completing their studies. That dedication excites us as we look forward to where their paths will take them next. We wish each of our tauira all the very best in their future endeavours. Congratulations!
NGĀ MIHI NUI!!!
Thank you to Musselburgh School for their manaakitanga and for providing a beautiful space to celebrate.
Thank you Councilor Marie Laufiso, our guest speaker, for her inspiring kōrero and for reminding us that our voices continue to carry power through the act of voting.
A special thank you to our tauira speakers, Tamara and Stacey, who shared heartfelt kōrero on behalf of their classes.
And finally, a massive thank you to the Huata whānau for feeding us with the most delicious kai, the perfect way to complete our celebrations!
Here are only a few pics of the day. More to follow. If you like please share your pictures in the comments.
