Great evening so far down at NEVBC for our Ladies Champ Champs quiz night fundraiser! Huge thanks as always to Spectacle Dunedin for running the quiz and to all those in attendance supporting the club

Well they just went and did it!

Bronwyn Stevens and Ange Francis took out the Bowls Queensland Women’s State Pairs last night!

They took the final 20-15 at Club Helensvale after a 12 hour day on the green!

Awesome work Bron and Ange! Carrying on the form that saw them take back to back Dunedin Champ of Champ Women’s Pairs victories 24/25 and 25/26.

Unfortunately they won’t be there to collect the spoils at Bowls Dunedin Awards night tonight however I’m sure that at the moment they’re very happy taking home the silverware on the Gold Coast!

We are stoked to be holding our first quiz for the off season and we're raising funds for our champion ladies pairs, triples and fours teams as they head away to compete in the NZ Champs in Hastings and then Pukekohe later in the year!

NEVBC End of Season Party & Potluck!

This time last year, things were looking somewhat dire for the future of the North East Valley Bowls Club.

After a lot of soul searching by club members themselves, input and help from The The Valley Project and ongoing hard work from a loyal crew of NEVBC members, we have come through another season and are looking forward to the future.

The club is building, and the facilities are being used by numerous community groups. It's great to see them in the facility, and they bring a different energy to the club as a whole.

The visitors have been coming to our Market days. The quizzes have been a riot and the cheese rolls have been flying out the door. The dancers have been kicking up a storm, the playgroup filling the hall with noise and the exercise groups flexing and stretching their limbs. The darts team have entered a team in a chartered clubs league.

As for the Bowls....

Despite what is now a 'pared back' bowls membership, North East Valley Bowls Club punches well above its weight, and we can celebrate another stellar year, particularly for our Women's membership.

This year, our NEVBC women have taken out the Bowls Dunedin Inc. Champion of Champion Pairs, Champion of Champion Triples and Champion of Champion Fours. A silver in the Champion of Champion Singles tops off a super season! There's been NEVBC players at the sharp end at many of the Open events - always competitive!

The Champion Pair of Bronwyn Stevens and Ange Francis have gone back to back, having taken out the Dunedin Champ Pairs last season, as well as the National Women's Pairs Champion of Champion title last season!

These are outstanding results and show the determination, skill and pride in the North East Valley Bowls Club colours.

We can take immense pride in our recently announced NZ Team Commonwealth Para bowler Kerrin Wheeler, in the visual impairment category, supported by Colin Wheeler as Director. Kerrin's off to Glasgow in July.

A cracker season for our Wednesday Men's teams - Winners! taking out their Interclub section, our other Interclub teams - men's and women's proving to be competitive in their respective sections.

What. A. Season.

The goal is to continue in the 26/27 season to be at the forefront of competitive bowls in Dunedin. Want to be involved? Get along to the club and have a chat to the members - we're not just a Bowls club...
