Term 3 2026 lessons conclude this Saturday 26 September.

Thank you to all our swimming families for another great term of lessons.

We are looking forward to term 4. Term 4 lessons commence the week beginning Monday 12 October.

Update 1.20pm- Moana Pool closed for remainder of Tuesday 22 September.

All Just Swim lessons cancelled this afternoon at Moana Pool. Customers effected will be emailed with further information.

Moana Pool is closed due to a burst water main and is expected to open as normal Wednesday 23 September.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

This week is the last week of lessons for Term 3 – Lessons conclude Saturday 26 September.

A couple of important reminders:

🏊The Moana Pool Leisure pool is closed for the next 2 weeks. For many of our swimmers it will be lesson only this week. The hydro slides are open and free for those able to use them but there is no alternate pool space for leisure swimming. We apologise for this while essential maintenance work is completed.

🏊All full-term customers have automatically been rolled over to Term 4, and we are continuing to send out on hold booking emails. Please reply to confirm, cancel or change your booking. All lesson details are available now in your customer portal.

Just Swim customers please note below information for the last week of Term 3 lessons at Moana Pool. Term 3 concludes Saturday 26 September.

Moana Pool’s Leisure pool will be closed from Monday 21 September - Friday 2 October for scheduled maintenance.

We’ve come to the party with plenty of FREE fun to make up for the closure over the school holidays!

The hydroslides are FREE and open:
• Monday 21 - Friday 25 September, 9.30am - 8pm
• Saturday 26 September, 8.30am - 7pm
• Sunday 27 September, 10am - 5pm
• Monday 28 September - Friday 2 October, 10am - 7pm

Want more?
• Inflatable sessions from Monday 28 - Wednesday 30 September, 11am - 3pm
• 5m diving board sessions on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 October, 10am - 2pm
• 5m diving tower sessions on Monday 5 October, 10am - 2pm
• Water World from Tuesday 6 October - Thursday 8 October (tickets sold separately www.wipeout.co.nz/location-suburb/moana-pool).

We’ll create additional fun space in the Learners and Main pools where possible but there is no space available during these times:
• Monday 21 September: 3.15pm - 7.15pm
• Tuesday 22 September: 3.15pm - 7.30pm
• Wednesday 23 September: 3.15pm - 7.30pm
• Thursday 24 September: 3.30pm - 7pm
• Friday 25 September: 3pm - 7.15pm
• Saturday 26 September: 7am – 9am.

From Monday 28 September, public fun space will be available in both the Learners and Main pools for the rest of the holidays. Hooray!

Brrrr... given the weather forecast overnight, our pool hours and morning lessons may be affected tomorrow Tuesday 1 September.

We ask our customers to check our page in the morning for lesson updates.

Our lessons will be running as normal if no update.

📢 South Island Short Course Championships coming to Moana Pool

Moana Pool is proud to host the South Island Short Course Championships from Friday 28 August to Sunday 30 August, welcoming around 250 swimmers, 115 officials, and spectators from across the South Island.

🏊 Pool Availability

The event will use the deep end of the Main Pool and shallow lanes 1 & 2.

During event sessions:

The Old Dive Pool will be closed to the public.
Lane swimming remains available in the shallow end of the Main Pool and the Dive/Lap Pool.

🤿 Annual Underwater Hockey 4 Aside Tournament - Moana Pool – this Saturday!

This Saturday, 22 August 2026, we're hosting the Annual Underwater Hockey 4 Aside Tournament in the deep end of the Main Pool from 8.30am to 5pm.

What to expect:

✅ Up to 65 competitors plus spectators attending
✅ Lane swimming available in the shallow end of the Main Pool and dive/lap lanes
✅ The Old Dive Pool will be unavailable during the event
✅ Parking may be busier than usual, so please allow extra time

💙 We look forward to welcoming competitors and spectators for an exciting day of underwater action and appreciate your understanding while we host this event.

Our popular five-week Just Swim lessons are back to round out term three.

Starting Monday, 24 August at Moana Pool, the shorter-term duration is just right for many babies and toddlers, and preschool and school-age children.
