Congratulations to all our gymnasts who competed at the Kings Birthday meet in Christchurch over the weekend. From our Level 1 MAG athletes in their very first competition ever to our experienced Senior WAG gymnasts, they all proudly represented their club and tried their hardest. There were some excellent routines performed, improvements made and opportunities to learn how to move forward when things haven’t gone to plan. Thank you to our coaches, judges and parents for making it all possible for our athletes to compete.

This month has been a thrilling ride for our DGA athletes, highlighted by our Step 1-4 WAG gymnasts' impressive showing at the St Bernadette's competition two weeks ago, where they truly embodied the spirit of our club with their dedication and outstanding sportsmanship.

We were very excited to receive our new Tumble Track and mini tramp for the Vogel St gym on Friday. Big thanks to the parents who helped transport these items from Otaki to Vogel St. And huge thanks to Rhys Henderson, Noah and the coaches for putting the Tumble Track together - not an easy job getting the springs on!

Best of luck to all our gymnasts competing over the weekend. Step 5 & 6 are at the Affinity Competition in Rolleston and Step 1-4 start their season at the St Bernadette’s competition in Dunedin - Go DGA! 🥳🤸‍♂️

Apparatus Finals night for our Level 9 team at the Queensland State Championships. Charli and Saki again competed with pride and poise.
Charli competed in the Open division and had 3 placings after beautiful performances on Vault (2nd), Bar (2nd) & Floor (3rd).
Saki was competing in the 15 & Under Division which was a very tough & competitive division. While Saki did not place, she did an outstanding vault, artistic and powerful floor and a lovely swinging bar.
I was very proud of the routines shown.
The girls who were in their group from other clubs were very welcoming and supportive and everyone at Queensland Gymnastics has gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. A great experience for the girls.

Charli and Saki competed tonight at the Queensland State Champs. I’m so proud of these 2 young athletes and how they represented their country with pride and composure. They performed some awesome routines after a wobbly start to the competition, on beam. Floors were artistic and lovely to watch, vaults were huge! And finished with some great swinging bars. Results for overall - Charli placed 6th overall in the Open section and Saki placed 10th in the very tough 15 & Under category.
Well done and looking forward now to tomorrow when they compete again in apparatus finals.

The NZ team trained today at Premier Gymnastics Club. So lucky to have a great gym to train in. One more sleep before Charli and Saki compete 🥳🤸‍♂️
