Hill City - University Athletic Club

We'd love to see as many HCU athletes competing for Otago in the blue and gold colours as possible. The national club relays are a lot of fun too. HCU has a proud record of entering teams in these and we've seen some great efforts in recent years and even a national title and another podium spot last year.

Due to a double booking of the Tomahawk Hall, the TK Cowan HCU Club Cross Country will now be held on the 4th of July. We will post more details closer to the date.

There have been some great results from our HCU athletes representing NZ at the Oceania Champs in Darwin.

Sadye Kawau has come 7th in her Women's U18 100m in a fast time of 12.56 secs.

Alex Walker finished 5th in the U18 400m in 51.47 secs. He also clocked a shiny new PB of 51.04 in the heats en route to the final

Sadye and Alex then both backed up those performances with some great runs in the relays. Sayde formed part of the NZ U18 quartet which won the 4x100m in a time of 48.16. Alex's U18 NZ 4x100m team came third in 42.50.

With so many unavailable for the Ponydales, we really appreciate the efforts we saw out there today from our teams. It was a great day of cross country running and the weather came to the party. To see Hill City-University Children's Athletics having so much fun out there today was a real highlight. Thanks also to the organisers (Leith Harrier and Athletic Club) for all of the work that went into the day.
