Our Otago National Hockey Championship teams are firing up the BBQ for the next two Wednesdays and they'd love your support!

Come down, grab a delicious sausage to warm up, and help our players on their journey to represent Otago at the 2026 National Hockey Championship!

It was meant to be a bumper day of action today, starting with fightclub for our NHC players at 6:30am, before interschools during the day, and Secondary School Boys hockey running through past 9pm tonight, but the weather gods have had other ideas!

With Secondary Schools being cancelled, and the general freezing weather (nevermind the snow!) Secondary School hockey has been cancelled tonight.

🛡 Four of our six shields are locked away for the summer - big congratulations to the Albany Alligators, West Taieri A and Taieri Raptors who have done the shield and points trophy doubles!

The Taieri Turtles could yet join them, but they have a top of the table clash they need to get through first against the Kings United Squires 👀

New Balance Premier Women - University Huskies v University Stingrays (1:30pm - Saturday 8 August)
JG Smaill Plumbing Division Three Women - West Taieri B v University Squids (2:45pm - Sunday 9 August)

The defending champions lock-up the points trophy and are right on course to defend their title 🔒

🏆 It was celebration time yesterday for these three sides, as they secured the Points Trophy for their respective grades!

🪩 The biggest night on the (unofficial) Otago Hockey calendar - the ball!

A huge congratulations to our 18 U18 athletes selected for the Alpiners U18 camp to be held in Christchurch at the start of Decemeber!

This is the next step in the pathway from National U18s, with Alpiners U18 squads then to be selected for the Future Hockey League in December.
