Great effort by Stephen Clarke at the World Masters Swimming Champs yesterday with a bronze in the 800 free in his age group (and he's at the top of the age group, so it looks good for next year).

First day of done and dusted. Gold and silver in the 800 free for Prescott and Clarke. Silver in the 800IM for McCane, and gold in the 800 fly for Hughes. Unfortunetly Jongens pulled out of the 800 free because he is bot feeling well.

Last weekend at the North Island Master's Short Course Champs:

Congratulations to Rebecca Tohill for claiming NZ Master's records in the 100 Breast (1:32.14) and the 200 Breast (3:13.58). Great swimming Rebecca.

Congratulations also to Steve Prescott for claiming NZ Master's records in the 200 Free (2:22.59) and the 800 free (10:28.37). Steve got his taper bit wrong, so actually swam slower at the champs compared to training.

Congratulations also to Richard Jongens for some good swimming. No records for Richard though ...
