Ladies who are wanting to join the more competitive side of disc golf, this is the perfect starting point!!

The black ice series runs every year and is comprised of 2 tournaments, the first being the mid winter classic and the final meltdown usually in September!

Ōtakau golf course is a great starting place for a tournament due to its flat nature and supportive competitors and club members helping you out and cheering you along the whole day!!

Your women’s Dunedin disc golf coaches will run some rules sessions and tournament style practice rounds well in advance so it’s something to seriously consider!!!!

Beginners would sign up to FA4 as the novice/ new to tournament grades!

Black Ice Meltdown Black Ice Meltdown is a PDGA-sanctioned disc golf tournament in Dunedin, New Zealand beginning August 22, 2026 and hosted by Disc Golf Dunedin.

We will be doing a league round at Brockville due to tournament prep for Sunday for a couple of our ladies!!

Women’s Disc Golf – This Saturday! 🥏

Join us this Saturday at 10:00am at Brockville Park for another fun morning of disc golf!

We’ll be playing the Winter League 18-hole layout. If you’re new to the sport or would prefer a shorter round, no worries at all—we can easily shorten it to 9 holes so everyone can enjoy themselves.

A heads-up: The course is very boggy, so I’d definitely recommend wearing gumboots (or bringing a change of shoes!).

Weather looks a bit average but for those who are keen, we’ll be at Chingford doing a back to basics skills refresher!

We’ll be going over basic handling, how to throw back hands, a bit more putting and anything you think you need help with!!

Unfortunately, we’ll need to cancel Women’s Disc Golf today due to the weather. The rain has set in and conditions are just a bit too wet for an enjoyable session.
