Long worthwhile travel to the ABA tournament today in Auckland. Jaydz split decision WINNER against an Auckland boy from Peach Boxing. A close fight but the decision deservingly went the right way. Well done Jaydz. Izzy convincing unanimous WINNER against an Auckland boy from Phoenix Boxing - awesome work Izzy, great boxing and great sportsmanship from Izzy buying his opponent a can of soft drink straight after the fight with his last $6.

Jaydz convincing Unanimous Winner. Israel, split decision lost in his debut fight against a more experienced fighter but definitely could have gone our way, and Elijah, also impressive debut losing very narrowly against his more experienced opponent. We’re all very proud of your performances today boys - exceptional fights, well done.

We were very privileged to have 5 Velocity fighters competing this weekend in an awesome event in Taupo, Nuki’s Boxing Gym 20 year anniversary featuring amateur, corporate & professional boxing. Congratulations Jaydz Taueki unanimously winning his debut fight and to Israel Hohepa performing exceptionally well in an exhibition fight. We are very proud of you both.

Great effort today in the finals Aidan Robinson. Won the first round well and then dealt with an aggressive attack from his opponent in the beginning of round 2 but finished the 2nd half of the round very well - in the fight all the way until getting caught with a big shot which we didn’t recover from late in the 3rd. We very proud of you Aidan - unfortunate finish but you gave it your all as you always do. Well done mate and congrats to Daniel Lee.

Awesome fight from our talented Naomi today in her first amateur fight on the big stage at the Golden Gloves. The split decision didn’t go our way today but we are all very super proud of you (and we so think you won) ❤️😊👊

Great day out at the SnapBack tourney today in Palmy - Cullen Foot, Aidan Robinson, Emery McGill & Katie Foot - awesome fights, we are very proud as always. Cully lost on points but keeps smiling & he’s especially impressed with his trophy. Aidan again unfortunate not to get the nod losing on a split which was a coin toss. Emery Impressive unanimous victor and Katie losing a close decision after a very good performance. Thanks Paddy & Beau for your coaching and support. Well done team - good times 😊

Great start to the 2026 season from 3 of our fighters competing in Masterton at the North Island Novice Championships yesterday.
Excellent gutsy performances for first time fighters Cullen Foot (30Kg Final) & Kaitlyn Sharples (60-65Kg Semi Final) competing in their first event both narrowly losing but gaining valuable experience and Emery McGill winning convincingly in his semi final bout, joining Aidan Robinson in the finals today.
