Mareikura Waka Ama Club Inc. would like to thank the Milford Foundation for providing funding to our club.
The club has used this funding to purchase eight brand new one-man Waka, and one brand new two-man waka.
The main purpose for these waka is so that our rangatahi have the proper equipment to not only compete, but compete at a high level.
We would also like to thank Sonic Waka New Zealand, Fai Va'a and TAI PADDLES for building these Waka for us.
Lastly, to everybody who turned up to Anzac park this morning for the blessing of these waka, thank you all. We were honoured to have Bryce and Brent from the Milford Foundation, Gisborne Mayor Rehette Stoltz and Matt and Kylie Sutton from Sonic Waka in attendance. Thank you to Tapunga Nepe for conducting this mornings procedures and blessing our brand new waka.
