Well, itās been a minuteā¦
We had a huge clean-up mission after being hammered by Cyclone Vaianu back in April, and since then weāve been hunkering down and getting through the worst of the winter weather.
Finally, the sun has returned and the sodden ground is getting a much needed break ā just in time, because lambing is now in full swing!
Over the past few months, thereās also been a lot of thinking happening behind the scenes. Iāve been assessing and reassessing my setup, and what Iām realistically able to manage at this stage of life.
One conclusion I keep coming back to is that Beau will likely be looking for a new pasture in the future, where he can continue producing beautiful foals for someone else.
Itās not a decision Iāve come to lightly. Beau has been such a gentle giant and has produced some truly special progeny during his time at Carnagh. He has a wonderful temperament, passes on his kind nature, and has been a much-loved part of what weāve built here.
For now, nothing is changing immediately, but I think itās time to start considering what the next chapter might look like ā both for Beau and for Carnagh Equestrian.
In the meantime, weāre enjoying the sunshine, welcoming new lambs, and looking forward to Spring and some brighter days ahead.
