Congratulations to Carmen Su, our Player of the Day from our opening Girls’ Youth National League match against Football South. ⚽

Coming off the bench Carmen made an immediate impact, scored our only goal and played a key role in many of our second-half attacks.

Tairawhiti Championship Bailey Cup - Gisborne Thistle Bobcats vs. Wainui Sharks

Our most thrilling encounter of the day was our Tairawhiti Championship Bailey Cup final between Electrinet Gisborne Thistle AFC Thistle Bobcats and Wainui Sports Club - Since 1989 Sharks, with the tie having to be settled by penalties. The teams couldn’t be separated after 90 minutes going into extra time 2-2.

Extra time bought a further goal to each team to finish the tie 3-3 AET. In a penalty shootout that saw both keepers make incredible saves and require them to take a penalty each, Wainui Sharks came out on top 9-8 to take the Bailey Cup back to'Shark Park' for 2026.

Division 2 Chris Moore Cup | HSOB Eels vs. HSOB Black Hearts

Inter club rivalry was the theme in our Division 2 Chris Moore Cup Final, with HSOB Eels taking on fellow HSOB club mates HSOB Black Hearts.

HSOB Black Hearts followed on their strong league display with a 4-1 win over the Eels too do the league and cup double 🙌

Women’s Braybook Family Cup Winners | Shockers FC
Runners up | Electrinet Gisborne Thistle AFC

An end-to-end encounter between the leagues two top teams culminated in a thrilling cup final, which saw Shockers Ladies Black come out on top with a 5-2 win.

A game which saw the both teams level at 1-1 going into the half, Shockers ladies backed up their solid defensive work with clinical finishing to round out a dominant second half display and win the Braybook Family cup for 2026! 💥

Congratulations to both teams on an exciting final.
