It is real sad to see this is happening...
'It just needs to stay' : Uncertain future for 100-year-old sports club The Hallyburton Johnstone Sports Club has been based on donated land for almost 100 years, but there are now questions over the ownership of that land.
The East Coast whanau will be very pleased to know that their now famous leading lawn bowler Aiden Takarua has been making big headlines over in Australia at the Moama Bowling Club in Victoria Australia.
Last night playing in the big UDC sponsored tournament with prizemoney of $280,000 Australian dollars ($NZ321,864) Aiden with his team of two Auckland "Young Guns" David Motu and Liam Hill finished runners up which won them $A20,000 ($NZ22 980).
This tournament had three separate tournaments over six days. Aiden's team did not feature in the prizemoney in the first two tournaments but saved their best for last last night.
In true East Coast fashion playing positive attacking bowls in the quarter and semi finals they dealt to some of Australia's leading bowlers in the quarter and semifinals.
Losing the final to World and Australian champions Warilla Club's Aaron Teys and Corey Wedlock was no disgrace to Auden's team. Teys and Wedlock had won this tournament four times before.
Kirsty Hill and Jamie Hill to note.
Another NZ Champion bowler with strong East Coast connections Shannon McIlroy was also successful at this tournament earlier with fellow Kiwi Ali Forsyth
