We follow the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus which is an internationally recognized organisation with exams offered annually. We also offer classes in NZAMD Contemporary. Established in 1993, Nadine Antoinette School of Dance boasts alumni who have succeeded both within the dance world, and in their chosen respective professions.

Nadine Proctor- Studio Owner, Founder, Ballet, Contemporary & Jazz Teacher, Choreographer
RAD qualified and Registered teacher.
Nadine has 35 years experience teaching dancers of all ages and abilities in many genres of dance. She attends regular courses as part of continued professional development. Nadine has on a number of occasions attended courses overseas to enhance her skills in teaching children to gain a love of the arts in new ways.
Although classical ballet is her main focus she has a love for choreography and enjoys putting together the biennial stage production in which the whole school participates. The most recent dance school productions being and original compilation of well know fairy tales titled “once Upon a Time”. Others include ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘Coppelia’. Nadine has also choreographed and performed in many local stage productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, A Chorus Line and Chess.
Nadine has a passion for teaching and believes everyone has a light within them if only given the chance to shine!
Anita Zwart- Ballet and Contemporary Teacher, Choreographer, Competition Adjudicator
RAD qualified teacher, New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist.
A former student of Nadine’s, Anita gained her physiotherapy registration in 2014, closely followed by her RAD teaching qualifications in 2016. After teaching in Masterton for 4 years, Anita rejoined the studio as a teacher in 2018. Anita’s love of dance and passion for bio mechanics within the human body combine in dance conditioning classes, with a strong focus on injury prevention and safe dance practices. Anita also adjudicates local dance competitions around New Zealand, and regularly attends courses and seminars aiming to improve both her teaching skills and physiotherapy practice as she finds the two often overlap. In 2019 Anita completed her Post Gradate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy through Otago University, and this was the first time the Otago University School of Physiotherapy recognized Dance as a sport within the Sports Physiotherapy paper.
Anita also has involvement in Musical Theatre, performing in 2019’s Mamma Mia, and Choreographing Muscial Theatre Gisborne’s 2020 production of The Addams Family.
