Training tonight at the Y Gisborne. One more training session to go (Tuesday 30 September 2025, 5-7pm) then off to Christchurch next Friday for the 3x3 Nationals and Round 3 of the National League (final round for the 2025 National League season)! We are all super excited!

This is the last tournament of 2025 for WBNZ, don’t miss your chance to see the country’s best wheelchair basketball talent battle it out one last time this year! 💥

TWO WEEKS TO GO till 3x3 Nationals and National League Round 3 at MainPower Stadium in Christchurch on 3rd, 4th and 5th Oct 2025! Ahead of this, to get everybody excited, the team would like to share some highlights from the previous round at Franklin Pool and Leisure Centre in Pukekohe on 23 and 24 August:

- Group game 2, won 29-26 against Auckland B (following 2 previous extremely close losses to them in the last year, we love our close, exciting game encounters with our Auckland mates!)
- Group game 3, we had the least worst loss against Tauranga of any team in our group (63-29, drawn 12-all after 1st quarter)
- Finished 3rd in our group
- In our 3A v 4B semifinal we had a hard-fought 48-31 loss against I Am Kiwi Vet (around half the deficit we had against them last time 17pts, instead of the 30pts we lost by last time out against them in Whangarei)
- Narrowly lost the play-off for 7th place (a rematch v Auckland B) , by just 4pts (25-29).

Bring on Christchurch and new adventures and opportunities!
