Weight loss has been sold to women as a discipline problem for far too long.

Eat less. Move more. Try harder. Be more disciplined.

But our weight is influenced by far more than willpower alone.

Hunger, satiety, hormones, sleep, stress, muscle mass, movement, medications, life stage, health conditions, our food environment and even the stories we tell ourselves can all influence the picture.

Yes, energy balance still matters — but understanding what is driving that energy balance matters too.

Instead of constantly asking:

“Why can't I stick to it?”

perhaps we need to start asking:

“What is my body telling me, and how can I better support it?”

Because sustainable change shouldn't require you to spend the rest of your life fighting your own body.

✨ 80 connections every week ✨

I was thinking recently about just how many women I have the privilege of spending time with through my PT, group fitness roles and Pilates.

Each week, I see around 55 different women — and about 25 of those women I see twice.

That means, across an average week, I have around 80 opportunities to connect with women through movement. 💚

And when I actually stopped and thought about that number… it felt pretty special.

Because those 80 sessions are about so much more than squats, weights, fitness and getting a workout done.

They’re conversations.
They’re laughs.
They’re sometimes frustrations.
They’re encouragement on the days when motivation is low.
They’re celebrating the little wins — and sometimes the really big ones.

I get to watch women become stronger, fitter and more confident. I see friendships form, people step outside their comfort zones, and women discover they’re capable of things they perhaps didn’t think they could do.

And somewhere amongst all of that, I get to know a little piece of each person’s story.

✨55 women. Around 80 connections every week. ✨

That’s something I never want to take for granted.

What a privilege this job is. 💚

💚 BUILDING STRENGTH, STRENGTHENING BONDS 💚

This is my gorgeous client and friend Delly, alongside her wonderful mum, Marge. Their weekly 2:1 training session is genuinely one of the highlights of my week.

The best part? Neither of them has ever been naturally drawn to exercise or particularly excited about stepping into a gym. But they understand how important it is to stay strong, mobile and independent, so they've made a commitment to prioritise their health—and they show up every week.

Along the way, they've discovered that exercise doesn't have to feel intimidating. They've found their place in the welcoming community of Studio A, where movement is encouraged, confidence grows, and every achievement is celebrated.

A gym doesn't have to be a scary place. Sometimes all it takes is finding the right environment, the right support, and people who genuinely want to see you succeed.

I'm incredibly proud of Delly and Marge for their consistency, commitment and willingness to invest in their health. It's an absolute privilege to be part of their journey.
