Opening day for the 2025- 2026 croquet season was held on 6th September.
Helen Williams was tasked with hitting the first ball of the season.

The Gore Croquet Club is located at 17 Ardwick Street Gore. We welcome new players and visitors from other croquet clubs. Social croquet is on Thursdays at 1pm
Club days are Tuesday and Saturday we meet at 1pm at the clubrooms.

We played our end of season tournament on Saturday. The winners of the Dorothy Marshall trophy were Judy Stewart and Janet Pickett

The Southland team that included 6 Gore players beat Central Otago in Queenstown on Sunday
A lot of people at the Southland tournament loved Anne’s bran biscuits and asked for us to post her recipe, so here it is.
Anne’s Bran biscuits
4 oz butter
4 oz brown sugar (less)
3 weetbix
1 cup flour +
1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 1 tsp warm milk.
Mix together, roll out, cut into preferred shape and bake 180°C for 25 minutes
