Indoor Hockey Round 2 draw is now available and starts this Friday 18th Jan. 7.15pm

The Franklin indoor hockey league kicked off tonight and it was a very close fought battle. The final score was 10-9 to the super sloths over Dis iz cool kidz. Tomorrow the hobbits take on team Andi at 2.00pm.

Thank to all those who turned out for the Indoor Hockey demonstration game and "have a go day". It was a great game of hockey between Yogesh's team and Lisa's team. Hockey was the winner on the day and a special thanks to Marcus Child for making a guest appearance. Just a reminder that registrations are still being taken for both individuals as well as teams. We currently have 6 teams confirmed and the league starts this Friday nite at 7.15pm. Demonstration Match, Registration and "Have a Go " day Sat 3rd November 2012 at the Franklin Swim Sports Fitness Centre, Franklin Rd at 2.00 -4.30pm. Demonstration match starts at 2.15pm -3.00pm with "Have a Go" games to follow after. Get a team together and join in the fun of Indoor Hockey

A slow start from the KBS Franklin Barbarians saw them struggling to contain the Te Awamutu strikers and found themselves 2-nil down at the half time break. Some stern words at half time from Yogesh sparked the Barbars into action. They replied early in the second half with a couple of well worked goals to Kim Sutton and Trishna Abernathy, one from a PC. TA caught the Barbars defense napping and netted another goal to lead by one midway through the second half. Both teams had chances to score through penalty corners but it was the Barbars who found the net late in the second half through Lisa Williamson who reversed one in past the TA keeper with 8 mins to go. The Barbars defended 2 PC attempts in the final minutes to deny TA the win, final score 3-3.

Congratulations to the Franklin Barbar's for their 2-0 win over Mt Maunganui on the weekend. Two great goals to Trishna Abanethy and a solid defensive performance sealed the win.
Unfortunatly the team was unable to make the top 6 round this year and will play off in the bottom 4 round robin against Taupo, University and Mt Maunganui for the plate.
