Super proud of Team Waikato at the Bay Open! Every single athlete showed immense heart on the mat, bringing home a mix of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals alongside some incredibly close, spirited matches.

A huge special shoutout to Ewan for stepping up to compete in his very first tournament—taking that leap onto the ring is a massive milestone!

And best of all... we FINALLY managed to get a full team photo this time! We’re usually far too busy running between rings to grab one, so having the whole team together in one shot is a real win!

Whether taking home a medal or a tough lesson, every match is a valuable stepping stone toward growing as a martial artist. Rest up, stay proud, and let's keep building!

On the mats, in your career, and in life: master the art of the quick mental reset. What happened a second ago is history; the next exchange is yours to win.

Apologies for the delayed post, we have been busy catching our breath since the WTNZ tournament on August 2nd!

We might be too exhausted to smile in this photo, but we are definitely smiling on the inside! (Though we are missing Yuri and Gyuyeon in this photo!)

We brought home the full set! We cannot be any prouder of our team for collecting Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. We even had some members who showed incredible heart by pushing through injuries to compete!

But at the end of the day, the color of the medal isn't the most important thing. What truly matters is what we take away from the experience. Every match is a lesson, and every challenge is a chance to grow.

The only question now is: What did you learn, and will you step onto the mat even better next time? 💪

A huge thank you to all the parents for your amazing support, and a special thanks to Jesse for the help. It was a long day, but seeing everyone grow and improve makes it absolutely worth it!

Hi everyone, Just a friendly reminder that our regular first class won't be running during the school holidays.

Our younger students are more than welcome to jump into the second class of the night (6pm) with the older kids. The core principles of the training will be exactly the same, but just a heads-up that the session will likely be a bit more challenging than what they are used to when training with Paul. It's a great opportunity for them to push themselves!

Those of you going away for the holidays have fun! otherwise we will see at the club!

Huge shout out to all our members who competed in the ilovetkd competition!

I am so incredibly proud of the courage and spirit shown by every single one of our members. It’s not easy to step onto the mat, but the performance and sportsmanship you all displayed was world-class. You showed exactly what our club is all about—tenacity, respect, and heart!

A massive thank you to everyone involved in making this day such a success. Special shout-outs to Soeyeon, Gyuyeon, and Caleb for refereeing—even Hayley mentioned you guys were awesome!

Also, a huge thank you to Rose and her family for the amazing catering and delicious food. Having that energy on-site made a huge difference for everyone!

We also want to give a big shout-out to Hayley and her team from Ilovetkd. Thank you for providing this platform for our grassroots and novice competitors to grow.

Photos are up!

Congratulations to everyone who graded on Saturday, you trained hard and these are the fruits of your labor.

Along with it being a great grading there were a few things that I believe we all learnt, one being that regardless of you rank, no one is immune to small failures, however it is what you do after the mistake that truly matters, there is no shame in getting back up and trying again, because there is no success without failure.

Practice makes progress, keep trying until you get it right 😁

For those that didn't quite make it this time, there is always next time! Don't rush good things take time 🙃

This past weekend, our team jumped into the action at the "I Love TKD" tournament, ready to have some fun and show their skills. Our eight awesome members, Anfield, Daniel, Elodie, Hayden, Isla, Juwon, Shania, and Trinity, gave it their all and came back with amazing results, almost all of them grabbing a win and a shiny medal. The big smiles in the photo below really say it all, such a cool moment for our club!

This achievement reminds us how much we can grow with dedication, picture training with the same focus as if you’re in a tournament, putting in 100% every time you step into the club. When the day comes, you’ll be prepared to compete just as you’ve trained.

Special thanks to our parents for their constant support, your cheers and encouragement fueled our success. Let’s keep lifting each other up and chasing every opportunity to shine. You all did an outstanding job, so proud of you!
