Waikato Treasure Chests Dragon Boat Team (WTC) are a women’s dragon boat team who are committed to providing a quality sports and recreation experience for all women of abilities and capabilities. We create opportunities for all women who have goals of wellness and belonging through offering a warm and welcoming space for women to connect. Our team competes under two categories:

Day One of the Waikato Dragon Boat Association’s sessions with the Hamilton Girls’ High School Advanced PE classes saw around 90 students jump into dragon boats to learn the basics, work together and, most importantly, have some fun on the water.
The Waikato Treasure Chests loved being part of the day and helping introduce so many young women to our amazing sport. It’s always fantastic to see new faces giving dragon boating a go!
Thanks to everyone who helped make the morning such a success. Bring on next week’s sessions—we’re looking forward to doing it all again!

Our annual prizegiving was the perfect chance to celebrate everything we’ve achieved this season. From regatta success and personal milestones to members earning selection in the NZ Black Dragons, there’s been plenty to celebrate.
Congratulations to all of our award winners and to everyone who turned up, trained hard, raced harder, volunteered, coached, swept, drummed, supported and came along to the post-training coffee.
