“This has been the most valuable part of my life for the past couple months. My whole outlook and drive has shifted for the the absolute better. This woman has opened doors for me I never knew existed.”

To be fair…Liza put in that hard work. I just nudged her a bit to help her see what she already had 😜

🥇 Number One! Yeeeeeow! You rockstar! 💪🏻

I love seeing my athletes shine and Liza is a bloody great example of what it takes to put in the work, even when it’s hard, even when ya don’t wanna do it…even when life is crazy.

As a side note-Liza is creating a pretty cool movement herself…go check out For all things women and lifting 🤙🏻

Who are your people? What does that circle look like? As humans we are hardwired for connection. Primarily for survival yes, but now more than ever, we stick together for support, collegiality AND for our mental health.

Find yourself a circle that is better than you

One that recommends you in a room full of strangers

A circle that encourages the parts of you that shine

People that foster your sane/happy/healthy side 😜

Find those people and stick in there. Life is hard enough without a support crew 🤙🏻

SEPTEMBER HIGHLIGHTS (PT 1)

Ri wanted to hit 75kg by the end of the year…1 session with me and BOOM!

This really just highlights how instrumental a good mindset is when it comes to lifting..she clearly had the strength. You can’t add 7kgs on to a sn**ch in a week, from a strength perspective.

I love unlocking potential like this. It’s so bloody rewarding.

This girl is such a beast…can’t wait to see what else we can achieve together 💪🏻

NARRATIVE verse EXPERIENCE mode…

One of the BIGGEST things my athletes struggle with is being too “up in their heads”.

Narrative mode is our default mode-it’s the worrying, the planning, ruminating and not paying enough attention our external world. Yes, sometimes this mode is helpful. But it can also take over and be not so helpful….

Below is some feedback Ive received around being too caught up in this mode-I wonder if you can hear yourself in any of these…?

“I can’t even hear my coach I’m so consumed in beating myself up around how I performed”

“I just get caught up in the bulls**t”

“All I can think about is how many times I’ve bombed this lift”

“I worry about hurting myself again and it just 100% puts me off”

“One little things feels off so and it sends me into a s**tty spiral of why I won’t make the lift”

“I see everyone else around me killing it and I just worry that I’m never going to be good enough or strong enough”

EXPERIENCE Mode is the opposite. It’s our direct experience of our senses and our body. Being connected with our experience means that we can…

🔥 acknowledge our wins and actually enjoy the celebrations

🔥 find joy in our sport again

🔥 be more connected to any adjustments we need to make to our movements

🔥 recreate the wicked s**t because we’ve actually taken note of how it feels when things go right

The more you’re in one mode, the less you are in the other…which mode do you live in? 💁🏻‍♀️

Meet Gemma 💜 I first met Gem a couple years back in my first CrossFit box and we quickly became good friends. She’s one hard working MF and can out-lift me any day of the week…

Gem has been struggling with being stuck in a bit of a rut and has lost her sense of identity and confidence around who she is as an athlete.

Gemma wears many hats and she works damn hard. Injuries have impacted on her sense of achievement and her ability to trust herself in her training.

We welcome Gemma into the MindSet fam with opens arms 🫶🏻

When we prioritise ourselves we see the changes that we yearn for and we thrive 💪🏻 💜

The importance of reminding yourself of your strength 💪🏻

I’m running some workshops atm around mindset and peak performance with .hamiltonnorth and we’ve been spending a good whack of time on curiosity as opposed to criticism and the practice of gratitude. Gratitude for our body and gratitude for how we’ve got to where we are now.

It’s very easy to get caught up in “woe is me” and to forget how lucky you are to have what you have.

I’m so passionate about gratitude because of my own life experiences of loss and set backs. It was gratitude that got me out of my rut and gratitude that reminds me every day that I am one very lucky human to have what I have.

It doesn’t matter what your gnarly s**t is, what matters is your lens and your ability to see what blessings you still have.

Every cell in your body listens to how you speak to it so please give it all the love it deserves 🫶🏻

It’s very normal to struggle in the lead up to competition.

If you didn’t I would ask you, "why are you even doing this?", because clearly, it doesn't mean enough to you.

When s**t means something and its important, we are invested and we can feel anxious about the result. We feel apprehensive about the day. Very bloody normal. It means that it means something to you. It means that you’re human.

Work with it, not against it. Let it inspire thought and action that is going to keeping driving you rather than pushing you down.

It all just depends on how you pull it apart and how you use it to drive your success.

What we CELEBRATE we REPLICATE 👏🏻

The importance of increasing our brains familiarity with success (no matter what that looks like) honestly cannot be overstated enough.

Our brain (bless it’s cotton socks) has a “default” way of operating. It’s how we’ve been conditioned, how we’ve grown up, the experiences that have shaped us and what we have believed over the years to be true and right.

We do this thing where we’re like “this is my world” and we don’t spend enough time challenging our brain and it’s lens and how it operates.

We can get used to seeing things as not good enough when in actual fact, just by flipping and pulling apart what we consider to be “enough”, we can create a new “default” way of operating that CHOOSES to see every stage of progress as a fu***ng celebration moment 🎉

…it just takes challenging your lens and practicing a new way of looking at the world. You make yourself do this enough-this way of operating becomes more familiar to said “helpful” brain and “ta-da” when you’re struggle st because this way of operating is more familiar, your brain (yay!) picks it! And you don’t feel so s**t, you actually feel pretty cool 🔥🥰

There is always hope. You are never stuck. You can change whatever you need to change to get the results you’re after…

💪🏻👏🏻

Progress looks like…

🔥 When the nature of my thoughts isn’t so s**t. That stuff comes in but it doesn’t hang around like it used to

🔥 I can consider what else is contributing to hard sessions and take some blame off myself

🔥 It doesn’t get to me for days when I miss a lift

🔥 I can change perspective when the story I’m telling myself isn’t working for me

🔥I’m more solution focussed

🔥I celebrate ALL my wins, it’s not just about the PBs. I find joy in what I do well

F yes….this girl is coming in hot! Love working with with she puts in the mahi and sees the results 💪🏻 between injuries and 1000 life commitments she is bloody dedicated…and a pretty cool person 👏🏻

Geddit girl!
