We are excited to be delivering our first RPC-Waikato 'Race Skills Clinic' this weekend in Hamilton.

The Race Skills Clinic will be targeting starts and turns and will be coached by no other than Mat Woofe, coach of the Regional Performance Centre. Mat will be joined by RPC Athletes and New Zealand Representatives and, Gina McCarthy Orlando Hardie

Our first Clinic has Sold Out, but don't worry, we will be hosting more in the near future. Stay Tuned!

Jesse is through to the 100m Backstroke S9 Final in Paris! ๐ŸŒฟ

A heat swim of 1.04.53 was enough to progress Jesse through into tomorrow's final, a time which was just off his own New Zealand record.

Jesse Reynolds has been competing alongside his regional teammates, Tupou Neifui and Joshua Willmer this weekend in Singapore at the 2024 Citi Para Swimming World Series

This will be the final competitive event for Jesse in the lead into the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Next up is a two week training camp on the Gold Coast.

RPC Waikato HEAD COACH - MAT WOOFE

Mat has coached within a number of High-Performance programs over the last 10 years including Melbourne Vic Centre, one of Australiaโ€™s Podium Programs and the Performance Coach at the Swimming New Zealand National Training Centre.

As part of this Mat has placed a number of swimmers onto national teams including the 2016 Olympic Games, 2017 World Championships, 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2018 World Short Course Championships, 2020 & 2024 Paralympic Games. Over the past 5 years, Mat has been named the New Zealand Coaches Association Coach of the Year (2016), Open Water Coach of the Year (2018) and Para Coach of the Year (2021 & 2024).

Mat currently coaches Jesse Reynolds who is a multi time Paralympic finalist and Commonweatlh Games medalist. He has in the past coached Nikita Howarth who is a Paralympic medalist and broke the SM7 100m IM Women's World Record at Waterworld. Mat also coaches Gina McCarthy who is a member of Swimming New Zealandโ€™s Senior Squad, has met pathway times for senior representation at the international level and holds a number of New Zealand Records across multiple events.
