Hamilton Wado-Kai are saddened to hear of the passing of a great teacher and gentle-man, Hakoishi Katsumi Sensei who passed away in Japan. Our heartfelt condolences to his family, students and Wado who mourn this sad loss.
It is hard to describe Hakoishi Sensei as he was a different persona to different people, but wherever he was and whomever he was with, he always took pleasure in teaching over and above what you needed to know. He was a fount of knowledge, a jokester, a jetsetter, and so much more.
We will remember you fondly Hakoishi Sensei. Rest in Love.
ご生前のご功績を偲び、心からご冥福をお祈り申し上げます。

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Members
Further to the Government's announcement Saturday evening, we would like to advise that classes will be running in their normal time slots.
We will monitor the situation closely and take the necessary steps to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our members is maintained.
Classes will be adhering to the Alert Level 2 social distancing guidelines and we will continue with sanitising the Dojo surfaces.
We kindly ask that parents refrain from entering the dojo and drop children off to class and pick up afterwards. Only enter if your child needs help.
Please also try to arrive slightly before class begins to minimise traffic when classes change over.
PLEASE NOTE - no self-training or entering the dojo early ahead of your class. You will be asked to wait outside.
Additionally please ensure you follow good safe hygiene practices and taking steps to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Feeling unwell - stay home!
We ask for your vigilance at this time and will keep you all well-informed on new updates as they become available.
If any of our members, instructors or their families are suspected or confirmed as having contracted Covid-19 and have recently attended the dojo, please ensure that you contact either our club chairman or head instructor on the below contact details immediately so that the appropriate measures can be taken. Also, should any of our members decide that it is safer not to attend classes, make contact with the below contactees and advise us so that we can note that on our club member register.
Aaron Bailey (Club Chairman) – 027 293 8660
Jimileen Tamaki (Head Instructor) – 027 629 5875
Stay safe and keep well everyone.

To the awesome individuals who smashed our kitchen windows at our club - bravo! Thank you for smiling into our camera. You are very photogenic and therefore easy to track. We know who you are and where you live. Rather than embarrassing you and coming to your house...we wait patiently for you to come in and say sorry. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Members,
Further to the Government’s announcement and Nationwide Alert this evening advising we are to move to Covid-19 Alert Level 2 as of midnight tonight (14 Feb) for the next three days until re-advised
We would like to remind all our members, parents and caregivers of our obligation as the clubs committee to keep you all safe and vigilant surrounding the level 2 guidelines.
At this stage all classes and times are remain as normal and will be re-assessed with any further government announcements.
As of tomorrow, Monday 15th February we request that only students attending classes to enter the Dojo and to please drop your family member off outside and pick-up after the class has finished.
Arrive just before the class start time to avoid any cross-over traffic from the class after or before yours. You can warm-up quickly beforehand but please make sure you do so on your designated mat.
Moving forward we are to ensure social distancing and hygiene practices are followed, we will be keeping our class registers through Dojo expert and advise until further notice that the lounge area is to be closed to visitors, parents and caregivers, however if you need to enter the dojo we request all visitors to our facility to use the Contract Tracing app or sign the register at the front door.
After classes we will undertake cleaning and sanitising of all surfaces, so we advise until further notice that all self training in the dojo is discouraged to prevent additional cleaning for our members
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me (027 293 8660) or Sensei Jimileen (027) 6295875 and hopefully we will be able to assist with your query.
Also, if you know of anyone who has not received any of our correspondence, it may be that we don’t have their email details on our database. Please pass this information on so that everyone is aware of our next steps.
Regards,
Aaron Bailey
