🤽‍♂️ U16 DIVISION 2 NATIONALS – HB WHITE!

What a week for our HB White boys at the U16 Division 2 National Championships!

This team was a real mixed bag of young, developing players who stepped up to take on the challenge of competing at a national level. And while it wasn't always easy, we couldn't be prouder of the resilience, determination, and perseverance this group showed throughout the tournament.

Development isn't always about the scoreboard, and this group has plenty to be proud of. The experience they've gained will only make them stronger moving forward!

A massive thank you to our wonderful parents for getting behind the boys, our superstar manager Nikki, and our coaching staff for all the time and effort that went into making this team possible.

And of course, a special shoutout to Diego from Tairāwhiti Water Polo in Gizzy, who made the journey down to join our HB crew for the week! We absolutely loved having you as part of the team!

Well done, HB White! Plenty of growth, plenty of lessons and plenty to look forward to. 💙

A FIRST for HBWP and our very own Blake! 🤽🏼‍♂️💪🏼

Blake is reffing at his very first national championships for Water Polo New Zealand. He is the first HBWP referee to referee on the national stage!

He is being looked after by an awesome crew of WPNZ referees and we are super grateful for this opportunity for him to learn and develop!

Go Blake 🤽🏼‍♂️

Now THIS is how you travel to Nationals on the East Coast! 🚚🤽‍♂️

Today, we’re excited to welcome Diego from Tairāwhiti Water Polo Club in Gisborne, who is joining our HB crew for the U16 Div 2 National Championships.

Of course, there was the small matter of getting Diego from Gisborne to Hawke’s Bay… and in true East Coast fashion, we found a solution! 😂 Hopefully not too smelly!!

A massive thank you to Matawhero Transport, who have helped get Diego down to the Bay aboard one of their stock trucks! Matawhero Transport have already been incredibly generous supporters of our club, so for them to go the extra mile (or 230kms!) to help us get a young athlete where he needs to be is pretty special. 💙

We love being able to create opportunities for young water polo players to get in the pool and compete, no matter what club, town, or part of the East Coast they come from.

Welcome to the Bay, Diego — what a way to start your Nationals adventure! 🤽‍♂️
