"You will never speak to anyone more than you speak to yourself in your head, be kind to yourself" - Anonymous

How's your self-talk?

Do you give yourself a hard time over the smallest mistake?

Or do you smile and encourage yourself?

Our inner monologues can affect us in negative and positive ways.

Here are some ideas that can help us to strengthen our self talk to help us be more confident and perform better:

* set realistic goals
* spend time with positive people
* avoid blaming or belittling yourself
* celebrate the small wins in your day
* try and embrace challenges with positivity
* say "I can" instead of "I can't". Reframe the narrative
* speak to yourself with compassion, the way you would to a friend
* pay attention to how you speak to yourself. Are you harsh or gentle?
* use positive affirmations (say them out loud to yourself) like “I am loved and loveable" or "I love myself"

You are unique and awesome. Other people can see that about you - make sure you can too!

Staying active, strong, and independent as we age is achievable and often easier than we think.

Here is a framework based on research that highlights four powerful habits for older adults to maintain their health and well‑being.

Anti-fragile.

What does that mean and why is it important?

Fragile - liable to break, to break, shatter, easily broken.

As we get older, we want to be anti-fragile.

Not prone to break and shatter.

How can we achieve this?

As soon as you can, start to do resistance/strength training.

Lift heavy things, put your body in challenging situations, work hard, load your bones and muscles, test yourself.
