🎉 AND JUST LIKE THAT, THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS HAVE COME TO AN END! 🎉

What a way to finish off another amazing holiday programme! 🤩💛

Today, Hastings, Napier and Taradale Y-Kids all came together at our Taradale Site for one last day of fun, laughter and making memories! 🥳

Our tamariki had an absolute blast bouncing around on the bouncy castle, while some got competitive with a few games of handball and others enjoyed getting stuck into our fun activities! 🎪🏀🎨

After a busy day of fun, we all gathered together to enjoy a yummy sausage sizzle 🌭 before settling down to watch a movie and wind down.

What a fantastic way to wrap up these school holidays! ❤️ A huge two weeks of fun, adventures, creativity and special memories with our tamariki. We hope everyone has enjoyed their time with us as much as we’ve enjoyed having them! 🥰

Week 2 Day 4 – Farmyard Zoo 🐷🐑🐐

The weather wasn’t quite on our side today, but that didn’t stop us from having an amazing adventure! 🌧️

Today we headed off to the Farmyard Zoo, where our tamariki had the opportunity to explore and interact with a variety of different animals, including pigs 🐷, sheep 🐑, goats 🐐 and even some adorable wild baby rabbits! 🐇 They also enjoyed the experience of feeding some of the animals.

Afterwards, we headed back to site where the fun continued with games of Kings and Queens 👑, soccer ⚽️ and plenty of indoor activities. Some tamariki enjoyed relaxing inside watching movies 🎬 and playing board games 🎲 with their friends.

💀🌺 ¡VIVA MÉXICO! 🇲🇽🎉 MYSTERY MAYHEM HIT A WHOLE NEW LEVEL TODAY! 🌮🎨

Week 2, Day 4: Day of the Dead! 💀🌸

Today, our team brought a little taste of Mexico to Y-Kids Raureka, turning our holiday programme into a colourful Mexican fiesta! 🇲🇽 From delicious food and creative activities to music, dancing and plenty of laughs, our tamariki had a day to remember.

Our tamariki learnt how to make guacamole and salsa from scratch, had their faces painted as colourful sugar skulls or spooky skulls, and battled it out in duos during Bingo! 💀🎨

For lunch, we enjoyed Doritos with our homemade guacamole and salsa. It was awesome seeing our tamariki give everything a go, even those who weren’t fans of avocado or tomatoes! 🥑🍅 Some were surprised to discover they actually really liked them! 😋

We also baked and decorated cookies, enjoyed new colouring activities and finished the day with Mexican music and a little salsa dancing. 💃🕺

It was the perfect mix of culture, creativity, food, laughter and fun, and we loved seeing everyone getting involved and enjoying each other’s company. ❤️

What a day! And now… ONE DAY TO GO! 🥹🎉

Fairy Village Builders part 2
What a magical 🪄day our Taradale Tamariki had today, we went to Fairy Lane 🧚 in Clive, what a beautiful place so much to see and the talent it was unbelievable. 🍄

Then we went to Anderson Park 🛝 for Lunch 🥪 and a play 🏃, we also saw a family of ducks at the park 🦆.

Back at the site we did our Mystical Jar 🫙they turned out awesome, and painted our rock 🪨 we collected at the beach ⛱️ by the Fairy Lane. 🧚

🐐 Week 2, Day 3: Farmyard Zoo! 🐓

Today at the Y-Kids Raureka Holiday Programme, we headed out for an exciting morning at the Hawkes Bay Farmyard Zoo! 🐑🐴🦙

Our tamariki had an awesome time getting up close and personal with all the animals and even got the chance to feed them! Some of our tamariki were super brave and took on the ostriches, even though those guys come at you hard and FAST! 😂🦤

We were also lucky enough to hop aboard the train and take a ride around the farmyard, which was definitely a highlight! 🚂

After an action-packed morning, we headed over to Cornwall Park to let off some steam, run around and have some fun. Once everyone had worked up an appetite and burnt off some energy, we made our way back to site for some well deserved chill time, relaxing and getting to know each other a little more. 💛

Week 2 Day 3 – Wild & Wacky Day 🤪🎉

Today was a little bit scary, wild and wacky! 👻🤪 The tamariki had lots of fun getting their faces painted and their hair styled in all sorts of fun and creative ways, just the way they liked it. 🎨💇‍♀️✨

We also made the most of the beautiful weather ☀️ by spending time outside enjoying the swings and playground, while some of the tamariki got into a fun game of touch. 🛝🏃‍♀️🏉

There was plenty more fun happening throughout the day, including jewellery making 💎📿 and relaxing with some movies. 🎬🍿

Another fantastic day filled with creativity, laughter and plenty of fun! 💕🌟

🎉 Celebrating 20+ years of Colleen! ❤️
Today we celebrated a very special milestone at The Y Hawke’s Bay — recognising our longest-serving staff member, Colleen, who has been part of our Y whānau for over 20 years!

That’s more than 80 holiday programmes, 200 bus trips, 500 games of tag, 2,000 breakfasts and 4,000 afternoon teas… and we reckon at least a million smiles along the way! 😊

For more than two decades, Colleen has brought care, energy, laughter and commitment to generations of tamariki and whānau across Hawke’s Bay.

20+ years is an incredible achievement. Thank you, Colleen, for everything you have given to The Y and our community. We’re very lucky to have you as part of our team! ❤️

Fairy 🧚Village Builders part 1
Before lunch our very talented Tamariki Children decorated some fairy houses🧚 mushrooms, 🍄or windows, they also made a little fairy.🧚
After lunch 🥪 they got to make some sherbet and play outside drawing pictures 🖍️on the footbath with chalk, play in the sandpit, play on the turf 🏃 or on the playground. 🛝

☀️ A big thank you to the local legends at Hawkes Bay Trim and Canvas!

They’ve done an awesome job helping us get our gazebos fixed up and ready for summer, making sure we can provide plenty of shade and protection for our tamariki from the harsh Hawke’s Bay sun… and, every now and then, a bit of rain too! 🌦️

We really appreciate local businesses getting behind The Y and supporting the work we do in our community. 💙

🌮🎉 Week 2 Day 2 – Mystery Mayhem | Marewa 🎉🌮

Today’s activities were a total surprise for our tamariki! As they started arriving, they were excited to discover that we were having a Mexican Fiesta! 🇲🇽🎊

The day was filled with colourful decorations, face painting 🎨, painting and decorating keyrings, and making delicious cookies 🍪. We also had Coco playing 🎬 and enjoyed lots of laughs and fun with musical chairs! 🎶🪑

For lunch, our tamariki enjoyed some yummy nachos 🌮😋, which were the perfect addition to our Mexican Fiesta.

It was a fantastic day filled with creativity, laughter, delicious food and plenty of fiesta fun! 🎉🌮💃
