Today we saw our first couple of players head away for the world champs in Duisburg, Germany. Good luck rylinglenny_ and Oliver Arcus who are representing in the Junior Paddle Blacks. We know you will do your club, your whanau and yourselves extremely proud

Just a reminder that Hawke’s Bay Champs is on this weekend at Flaxmere! We can’t wait to see everyone there for an awesome weekend of canoe polo.

We also have a little surprise for all our young players... 👀 Make sure you stick around to watch a demo game featuring our top A Grade players. It’s a great chance to see some of Hawke’s Bay’s best play!

We remember and honour a man whose impact on canoe polo, Napier Boys' High School, and the wider Hawke's Bay community cannot be measured by medals, results, or achievements alone.

He dedicated countless hours to supporting, encouraging, and developing young people in our sport. Whether introducing a beginner to canoe polo for the very first time, coaching athletes striving for high-performance success, refereeing games, or simply offering guidance and support when it was needed most, he gave everything he had to help others succeed.

His contribution to Napier Boys' High School was immense. He played a significant role in the growth of canoe polo within the school, inspiring generations of young men to challenge themselves, work hard, and become better both on and off the water. Many of those young men are stronger, more confident, and better people because they had the privilege of knowing him.

His influence extended far beyond NBHS. He was passionate about growing the sport at every level, supporting intermediate athletes, working alongside other schools, and encouraging participation wherever he could. He genuinely wanted to see everyone succeed and was always willing to share his knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm.

He was an outstanding and respected member of our community, a mentor, and above all else, a genuinely good person. His contagious laugh could brighten any day, his booming voice could be heard from across the venue, and his presence brought warmth, energy, and encouragement wherever he went.

The canoe polo community has lost a remarkable ambassador, but his legacy lives on in every player he inspired, every team he supported, and every life he touched.

Thank you for your dedication, your passion, your generosity, and your friendship. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever appreciated.

Rest easy Silver - You will be missed!

Canoe Polo Hawkes Bay considers the health and safety of our members and visitors our highest priority. We believe it is our responsibility to ensure that our facility provides a safe and healthy environment, and we take this responsibility very seriously.

Following recent water quality testing, some results have come back outside acceptable standards. As a precaution, and while we seek further guidance on retesting and undertake necessary cleaning processes, the facility will be closed until further notice.

We understand this may cause inconvenience, particularly for those who had bookings scheduled. We are reaching out directly to affected users and appreciate your understanding as we take these steps to protect your wellbeing.

We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available and the facility is safe to reopen.

Heart of the Club Award - This award recognises a person who goes above and beyond to support the club and those around them. Whether helping with gear, setting up, packing down, or supporting teammates behind the scenes, they are always willing to lend a hand. Their commitment, reliability, and selfless contribution help strengthen the club and create a positive team environment.

Coach of the Year Award - This award recognises a coach who has shown outstanding commitment, leadership, and passion throughout the season. This coach supports and inspires their players, helps build confidence and skills, and creates a positive team environment where everyone can grow and succeed. Their dedication, encouragement, and love for the sport have made a lasting impact on their team and the wider club.

The Mana Award - The Mana Award recognises a player who consistently shows respect for referees, opponents, and teammates. This person plays with pride, upholds the values of the club, and demonstrates integrity both on and off the water. They lead through their actions, showing sportsmanship, humility, and mana in every aspect of the game.
