🏁 Looking for a few sponsors for the 2026/27 season 🏁

I'm putting this out there to see if there are any businesses or people who might be interested in getting behind my daughter, Sophie and I for the upcoming speedway season.

Speedway has been a pretty big part of our family for a long time. We're 3rd and 4th generation speedway racers, so it's something that's really special to us and something I'm proud to be passing on to Soph.

We're very much a family team too. My Mum and Dad are a big part of our crew, along with my other two daughters. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes to get two cars to the track, and we're lucky to have a pretty awesome little team around us.

I'm racing my TQ Midget at Meeanee and Sophie is heading into her third season of racing.

We're definitely not out there winning every week 😂 but I'm continuing to work to work on my driving and the car. The goal is to keep improving and moving forward.

Sophie has come a long way since she started. She won the Perseverance Trophy in her first season and received a Merit Award in her second, and she's continuing to improve and gain confidence every time she gets in the car.

We're hoping this season to get out to some other tracks around the North Island as well, which we're really looking forward to.

So, I'm putting the feelers out to see if anyone would like to come along for the ride and help us with the costs of racing.

Sponsorship would help with things like:
🔧 Car upgrades and maintenance
🏁 Tyres and racing costs
⛽ Fuel and travelling to other tracks
🛠️ Keeping both cars on the track
📓 License and club membership

In return, we'd be able to offer branding on the cars and pitshirts, as well as regular shout-outs and posts on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

We're not promising trophies every weekend 😂 but we can promise that we'll be out there giving it our best, representing our sponsors and enjoying every minute of it.

Hey, kid.

Yeah… you.

I see you.

I see you walking around this place, watching, listening, learning.

I see how you carry yourself.

You’re not the kid who has to be the center of everything. You’re not looking for attention. You’re not trying to convince everybody that you belong here.

You just keep showing up.

And there’s something about that that I hope you never lose.

Because this racing thing will teach you a lot about winning, but it will teach you even more about losing.

There will be nights when everything goes right.

And there will be nights when you do everything you can and it still doesn’t work out.

There will be people who get there before you.

People who seem to have more experience, more confidence, more people cheering for them.

And there will probably be moments when you wonder if you’re good enough.

Keep showing up.

Keep being the kid who says yes ma’am and yes sir.

Keep being the kid who shakes someone’s hand.

Keep being the kid who listens when somebody with more experience has something to teach you.

Keep putting in the work when nobody is standing there to see it.

Keep your feet on the ground when things go right, and keep your head up when they don’t.

Because people are watching.

Maybe not the way you think they are.

They’re watching the way you treat people.

They’re watching how you handle disappointment.

They’re watching whether you get back up.

They’re watching the person you’re becoming long before you realize you’re becoming him.

And one day, you’re going to look back at these days and realize it was never just about the checkered flag.

It was about everything you learned on the way there.

So, kid…

keep showing up.

Keep being kind.

Keep being humble.

Keep putting in the work.

Keep chasing it.

And when your checkered flag finally comes…

I hope you’re still the same kid I saw standing here today.

Sophie had ministock prizegiving today which started off at 007 Paintball which was so much fun for the kids. Thanks to James who not only sponsored Soph & I this season but is a huge support for Meeanee Speedway in general.

We then had an awesome lunch before prizegiving.

Claire McLachlan and the club put an awesome day. Thanks for all your dedication, time and passion.

Sophie won a merit trophy, which was pretty cool and I'm feeling super proud of her.

Congratulations to all the other winners also.

We've been a bit slow off the mark in the off season but Sophie has been busy de-stickering and the ministock had a wee trip away to get new side rails & new front and back bumpers as well as a few other bits and pieces fixed up.

The T.Q is still in the shed fully assembled.

The girls and I are moving houses in a month so we've been a bit loath to strip the cars down as it's going to be easier to move them in one piece.

Could be a busy few months leading up to opening night!
