Sad Announcement of the passing of a Friend, Combatant and a true Gentleman.

Dear members

It is with great sadness that during the NZ Masters Snooker Championship at 2:30 pm Kevin Whynn had a medical event during one of his matches. Unfortunately, despite all of the efforts of the medical team, he passed away.

Our heartfelt thoughts go out to Pam, family and friends.

Due to this match being streamed on the table Kevin was playing on, coverage will no longer continue today and has been taken down and removed from public viewing. We appreciate your consideration and respect in this time of great sadness.

We will update members on any further information we receive from Kevin's family regarding his funeral service.

Following is HBCBS Announcement of 2026 AGM for those that didnt receive it via email. This acts as the Official 1st Notice Announcement.

To all HBCBS financial members,
As Secretary of the HBCBS I am giving notice of the AGM which will be held at 10.30am on the 18th October 2026 at Taradale RSA, 156, Gloucester Street, Taradale. (During the 1 framer final comp).
As part of the AGM we will be holding elections for all positions on the HBCBS committee (which are for a term of 1 year).

As per our constitution, nominations (which need to be made and seconded by financial members of HBCBS) should be sent to me at this email address by 6pm on the 16th August 2026. All nominations should include a short biography of the candidate stating why they wish to fill the vacancy and their consent to do so.

The positions on the committee are: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Tournament Director and 6 other members. The constitution requires a minimum of 7 committee members.

I will circulate all nominations 6 weeks prior to the AGM.

Any motions to change the constitution needs to be seconded and sent to me by 16th August.

Business of the AGM:
Welcome to members, accredited visitors, and observers.

Consideration of and confirmation of the minutes of the previous AGM.

Matters arising from the minutes of the previous AGM

Receive and adopt the Executive President's Annual Report.

Consider the annual statement of Accounts.

Reports from other Officials of the HBCBS.

Election of Officers.

Determine any resolution, remit or notice of motion of which due notice in advance of the AGM has been provided.

Recommend payment of Honorarium/s.

Determination of the annual membership fee
