King's Birthday Ambrose - Postponed but Worth the Wait!

We finally got our postponed King's Birthday Ambrose tournament away on Sunday 19th July 2026, with a full field out enjoying it with the best winter weather one could hope for.

After being rained off in May, we're excited to confirm our 2026 King's Birthday Tournament has been rescheduled and is going ahead on Sunday 19 July!

Round 5 of the Central Otago Women's Interclub was held here at Wanaka on Sunday, and while the sun made a welcome appearance, it was a cold and frosty one! Several shaded areas didn't thaw until well into the afternoon, making for some tricky conditions out on the course.

Congratulations to Lake Hāwea Golf Club who took the win on the day with a superb combined score of 285. Isabelle Prosser led the way with a brilliant net 67 - a fantastic round in those conditions.

Tarras Golf Club finished 2nd with 290, with Megan Page posting the best individual score over the whole field - a net 66. Exceptional golf!

Wanaka finished 3rd, just one shot back on 291. Well played to Sue Cowles and Linda Wallace who led the way for us with net 71s.

A wonderful day of competitive golf. Well done to all who played, and especially to Lake Hāwea Golf Club. See you next round! ⛳

⛳️ HOLE-IN-ONE ALERT! ⛳️

Congratulations to Jake C***s on an incredible hole-in-one on the 9th green at Lake Hāwea Golf Club! 🏌️‍♂️

The ace came on Jake da Muss' 18th hole during a gruelling 36-hole Senior Final against Tony Ascott, with Jacke going on to take the win in impressive fashion.

This makes history as:
- The first hole-in-one ever recorded on the 9th during a club day
- Only the second ace ever on the 9th green at Lake Hāwea Golf Course

The first was achieved by Adam Fairmaid during a casual round two years ago.

A fantastic achievement and a moment that won’t soon be forgotten. Well played Jacke! 👏🍻

A huge congrats to our ladies who played Cromwell Golf Club in our Pennants match yesterday at Wanaka Golf Club, with a 5/1 win. This achievement now ties us with leaderboard head Tarras Golf Club which will now require a play-off.

A massive thanks to Wanaka Golf Club for hosting and for putting on such a delicious and copious meal, and to all participating ladies. A really fun day was had!
