What a way to finish the Coast A&P Circuit 2026 🏆🌿
📍 Whatarora Show 2026
• Champion Riding Horse
• Champion Paced & Mannered Horse
• Supreme Paced & Mannered Exhibit of the Show
To then take out the West Coast A&P Aggregate Champion Show Horse across Buller, Westland, Inangahua/Reefton and South Westland A&P Shows is incredibly special.
As someone usually found in the jump ring, stepping into the show ring and achieving this was a completely different — and very cool — milestone in my riding journey.

Inangahua A&P Show — Awatuna Team Update
We had a lovely morning at the Inangahua A&P Show with the girls all giving their best.
✨Awatuna Peggy Sue started the day beautifully, looking absolutely stunning and picking up placings in most of her classes. She felt wonderful to present and really shone in the ring.
✨Awatuna Scarlett Rose went very kindly for Grace, producing a soft, happy round and also collecting placings across her classes — always a pleasure to watch these two together.
✨Awatuna Rosemoor Luna with Sierra Julian aboard had a great show with plenty of placings and Gaining heaps of experience.
Congratulations also to Sierra who did some super jumping on her little fella Sarki. Taking out champion pony show jumper with a very snazzy jump off
Unfortunately, the day ended earlier than planned after Peggy caught her lead under the float, resulting in a cut near her eye. This came down to a miscommunication around the lead and, while upsetting, was an avoidable accident — a reminder for us all to stay extra mindful in busy show environments.
Peggy is comfortable and being well cared for.
Thank you to the show organiser's for putting together such a great event, and to the wonderful people who came to support and help our horse team throughout the day — your time, care, and encouragement mean so much to us.
Grateful for the good moments, the lessons, and our special horses — onward and upward for the Awatuna team 🤍

We are extremely proud of how these horses performed and represented Awatuna. Results like this don’t happen without a huge team effort.
A heartfelt thank you to the Westland A&P organisers, judges, stewards, and volunteers for putting together such a well-run show. Thank you to all the supporters, helpers, family, and friends behind the scenes — from preparation at home to support on the day — it truly takes a awesome team of people, and we are very grateful to everyone involved in making this all possible.

SPRINGSTON TROPHY 2025
🌟 Awatuna Horses are proud to be sponsoring Springston Trophy 2025! 🐴
Over the years Awatuna Horses have travelled all over the South Island with their riders to compete at Springston Trophy, it is such a great competition, lots of preparation, and partnership between horse and rider. From hours of training to the trust built in the saddle, every combination showcases dedication, horsemanship, and teamwork.
Springston Trophy is also about the people and ponies that make it special – the friendships, the camaraderie, and the memories that will last a lifetime. 🩷
What makes this one extra special is that her oldest granddaughter will be riding in it. How cool is that!🏇
Penny and the committee have been working extremely hard behind the scenes to make sure this is going to be an amazing event.
If you want to come along the details are below.
