There's real research behind this. Something like 8-12 air squats every hour keeps your main muscle groups firing and your blood moving, which is exactly why a quick shake-it-out at your desk actually works when you've hit a wall. Fresh air, a bit of movement, and you're back online.
Also: it doesn't have to look good. This clip is not technically correct and my inner critic had a lot to say about posting it. But I'm not training for a company. I'm here to move, feel something, and get a bit of joy out of the day, however that looks.
Take something from class, do your own dodgy version of it at home, and don't worry if it's nothing like what we did. That's kind of the whole point. 🩰

Full disclosure. That's full stage makeup in this clip, and no, that's not what "being yourself" looks like on a Thursday.
Stage makeup exists for one practical reason: bright lights and distance wash out your features, so the exaggeration is there to be seen from row twenty, not to be believed up close. It's a costume, not a confidence requirement.
The version of you without any of it on, showing up anyway? That's the one that actually builds confidence. Not the highlight, the base coat.
Come as you are. That's the whole point. 🩰
Not every day is bright and bubbly. Some weeks it's broken sleep, big decisions, and being harder on yourself than you'd ever be on anyone else. It's okay to lean into feeling like s**t. Just don't stay there too long.
Filmed this right after a ballet class that was harder than usual. Not because of the steps, but because of everything else I was carrying into the room that week. Looking back, it was actually a class I thrived in. But in the moment, all I felt was tired and a bit hard on myself. Both things can be true. 🤍

I used to think you needed a certain kind of body to belong in a dance studio
Most of the women in my classes think that too, about themselves, never about each other
We're all just measuring ourselves against a shape that was never actually the point
Strength isn't a look. It's what your body can actually do
Bring whatever body you've got today. That's the entire requirement 🤍
Stuck at your desk feeling flat and fidgety? This takes 20 seconds.
Sit tall (or stand), reach both hands up to the ceiling, look up as far as your neck's happy with, stretch those fingertips a little further, and let your back arch. Open your arms out wide, then bring them back down. Clasp your hands at chest height, palms facing away, and reach forward like you're trying to touch a wall in front of you while the back of your shirt reaches for the wall behind. Let your head drop.
That's it. Do it now, wherever you're reading this. 🤍
You could do this on your own. You don't have to. That's kind of the whole point of BWC. Thursdays 6pm, Jazz Time Studio 🩰

I am so proud of every single one of you who walks through that door and just takes on whatever I throw at you.
Strength to strength, every class. Not because it's easy, because you keep showing up and trying the hard thing anyway.
I get to watch confidence and strength and mobility and balance leapfrog ahead, sometimes week to week, and it genuinely gets me every time. That's not a small thing to witness.
Give yourself a proper pat on the back. An actual one, not a quick mental tick. You've earned it.
Hanging out with this lot is the actual highlight of my week. I leave every session smiling more than I walked in.
