⚽️ JHC Girls Football Tournament Round-Up! ⚽️
​Huge congratulations to our JHC girls who competed in their very first school football tournament! The team showed incredible skill, grit, and determination throughout the competition, battling hard to finish a fantastic 9th out of 19 teams! 👏

​A massive thank you to Toni Vincent for coaching the team and guiding the girls every step of the way, and to all the parents and family members who came out to support each day. Your sideline cheers meant the world to the team! ❤️

​We also extend a huge thank you to Southland Bati Rugby league Club for letting us borrow their sideline jackets. They were very handy and much appreciated.

​🌟 Special congratulations to Maegan James, our Tournament MVP! Maegan was absolutely outstanding all tournament long.

​So proud of this team and everything they achieved! Onwards and upwards! 🔴🔵✨

The JHC Boys First XI Hockey team is playing for the bronze medal today in Invercargill at 10:30 AM against Cashmere High School.

After an incredible tournament run, the boys need a massive crowd on the sidelines to bring the energy, wear the school colors, and cheer them all the way to the podium.

All the best to the Girls 1st XI Hockey team who are through to the final tomorrow. They have also qualified for Fed Cup which is absolutely amazing! more details to come on how they have gone at tournament soon...

Well down to Parks Laverty (Yr11) who went to the South Island Year 9/10 tournament to referee. After some awesome performances and control on court he was selected to ref the South Island girls A grade final. So proud of his efforts.

A great five days for our Boys and Girls Year 9/10 basketball teams at the South Island Tournament in Christchurch.

The girls team after winning their last 16 game against St Margaret’s they faced Avonside in the quarter. This started well but some strong contact put one of our girls out of the game and we eventually lost 72-106 to the eventual silver medalists. The girls then regrouped on the last day and beat Marlbourgh Girls and then faced Hillmorton for fifth and sixth. The girls were well down but showed real pride and managed to come out with a one point win. This was an outstanding display and showed the real character of the ladies.

The boys had a last 16 match vs Southland Boys. Up to this game it had been one a piece for the season. The boys played very strong and stayed close through out but unfortunately we could not get the job done. This placed us in the bottom eight and they played Rangiora this again was a close game but they could not get over the line and lost by ten. This put the boys against St Andrew’s on the last day and the boys stepped up winning by 26 points. This put them in the 13/14 playoff against Nayland College that we faced earlier in the tournament. The team improve on their first outing and won by 29 points.

We are so proud of these students and see the massive benefits to go to these tournaments. A big thanks to Sara Woods who has coached some of these boys for the last four years. Also to Kate and Emma for all the work you have done with the girls. The can the see the massive improvement in these ladies.
