Bit of a late post but after some time to reflect, here’s my recap of the 2025/26 Mazda Racing Series.

First of all I would like to say a massive thank you to my sponsors and everyone who has supported me this season.

Thanks to all my supporters, I really appreciate the support and it motivates me to do well.

What a season it was, my first national championship, and to come home 6th overall in the series, and runner up in the rookie standings, I’m pretty stoked with that.
It started out with some bad luck, having a DNF at manfield and the engine letting go at the next round, putting me on the back foot to start. I took this as an opportunity and delivered with some strong results in the following rounds, clawing my way through the points, to finish at the pointy end of the field.
The South Island leg was quite the adventure, but has to be the highlight of the season. Coming away with my first win at Teretonga in treacherous conditions, and sharing the podium with Stu and Simon on live tv was quite the achievement for us. Highlands didn’t quite go my way but what a place that is, there’s nothing quite like it.
Rounding out the season at my two home tracks was pretty special, and while I couldn’t snag rookie of the year, I’m still happy with how the season went.
Right now, it’s time to take some time away and work out my options for next season, whatever the future may bring.

Well that’s the final round of the 2025/26 Mazda Racing Series wrapped up.
The weekend started out with a successful test day, before losing 4th gear and having to replace the gearbox and a broken engine mount before qualifying. At the end of the day I was within the top 5.
Qualifying was a struggle, getting used to the new gearbox, managed a couple of decent laps and qualified 7th, but wanted to have been up in the 5.
Race 1 was hot and grip was limited, I settled for P7, giving myself the better starting position for race 2.
Race 2, starting from 4th I had a great start and was fighting in the front bunch. I struggled towards the end as my tyres were gone and had to settle for P5.
Race 3, was going well until it wasn’t. I started in 5th and had good pace, fighting for the top 5. Near the end of the race the brake pedal went to the floor going into the hairpin and just pulled it up, losing multiple positions, I fought my way back through to finish 7th.
Decent way to round out my rookie season in the Mazda Racing Series, finishing in the top 6 overall, and top 3 rookie.

Here is the schedule for the Final Round of the Mazda Racing Series at Taupo Motorsport Park this weekend. Keep an eye out on my pages for updates throughout the weekend, I’m looking forward to it👌🏻

It’s race week at Taupo Motorsport Park for final round of the Mazda Racing Super Series!
Looking forward to the track where it all started for me, and where I have done plenty of laps around before.
I will be giving it my all in the MTF Hamilton #2 Lawton Rotorsport RX8. It’s all to play for this weekend.

As we approach the end of the 2025/26 season, I’m starting to look ahead and secure partners for 2026/27.

My rookie season in the Mazda Racing Series has had its ups and downs, but I have come away with plenty of positives and key learning. I’ve shown consistency and achieved some strong results, running at the pointy end of the field. I’ve got higher expectations for next season, and I am focused on building on this seasons foundations in 2026/27.

Round 5 of the Mazda Racing Series ☑️

Wasn’t the weekend I was hoping for, but still came away with some decent results.

Qualifying was tight, and I was all of half a second off pole. I had a poor start in race 1 which put me on the back foot, leaving me having to find my way through the field. I clawed my way back through to finish 12th, my first finish outside the top 10 this season. I had my work cut out for race 2, finding my way through the field in a disrupted race, finishing 10th, and in race 3 I continued to climb through to finish 8th.

I had great pace all weekend but let it slip away in race 1, but kept my head up throughout and raced well through the field. I look forward to Taupo in two weeks time, where we round out the season.
