A luxury helicopter and crayfish-gathering experience was marketed to tourists as showcasing “amazing fresh produce of New Zealand”. But it has now led to an Invercargill diver being fined.

Kia Ora Everyone! Who is keen on improving or practicing their freediving skills?

This summer we are going to be hosting weekly evening meet-ups again. We will be hosting workshops and providing a confined safe enviroment to practice (that is not so reliant on visibility 😝). Our goal here is to continue to build a social freediving community that shares knowledge and skills here in Kaikoura. All levels are welcome to join us!

Last season we had seen some epic improvements, newbies went from a one minute breath-hold to over two minutes and had some experinced divers getting over three and a half for the first time. Some local spearo's managed to improve their underwater time. Even had some youngsters get the bug for improving their diving skills.

We are offering earlybird passes for all pool sessions at $84.99. This offer ends on the 1st of October. Then the price is up to $99.99. So get in touch with us on email through to [email protected] to get yourself signed up!

Equipment is not included, if you are new or do not have equipment we can help sort you out for a discounted rate.

Want to build up your skills this summer? Come hang out with us and earn yourself an SSI recognition rating by completing a various number of courses with our package deals. You can be more than just a Open Water Diver....

Typically our continued SCUBA courses range from $349 - $699 each. If you commit to multiple over the season through one of our package deals, we can start giving you a bit of cash back!

* Seafood warning *

Flooding in the Kaikōura region has led to ‘sea cast’ pāua on the beaches. We strongly advise these are not eaten, as they are likely to contain hazardous toxins, ranging from sewerage waste to chemicals from flooded farmlands.

People who gather the pāua nonetheless, should note that the normal daily limits apply.

Stay safe everyone! Not long now until it should ease off. Remember to check on your neighbor, family and friend's.

Okay guys! Just so you all know this is going ahead next week. Respect it and keep watch for any illegal fishing.

We would like to give a massive congratulations and apprication to Ray for finishing his Divemaster training with us by taking on our internship program.

Being with us since Novmeber he has managed to go from zero to hero! Taking on a a new realm of diving with recreational SCUBA we would like to say he did really well. All guests, club members and crew all speak his praises. His kindness, passion and work ethic was top notch that we even offered him to join us next season as a guide.

Expect to see him some more on your diving advenutres with us!

It was a fantastic little send off for the coming winter months. We are excited to welcome everyone back and meet new friends next season. It has been a great summer even with the battles with the weather. As we settle in to close up shop from June to October we would like to send out a massive amount of gratitude to those who joined us and made our memories great.
