With it being volunteer week, we’d like to acknowledge the passionate group who look after the interests of the aquatic centre. Some have been on the group since the working group in 2018. That’s 8 years of making sure this awesome venue provides everyone with the chance to swim, exercise or just have fun in the sun.
Others include Dave Milligan who mows the lawns and Roger Dempsey who is waving his magic green fingers over our bank.
Thank you to everyone from our community!!

and for everyone that donated a prize or supplies for our combined fundraiser with Kaikoura Ocean Research Institute - KORI
your generosity helps make it all possible, and we are so grateful to stand alongside you.
To everyone who walked through our doors,
whether you booked a single lane, joined a class, or hired the entire facility. Thank you for choosing us to be part of your days.
To our amazing swim instructors and coaches, from those very first bubbles to personal bests and record-breaking moments, you’ve built confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of the water in our tamariki.
To our Aquafit instructors, thank you for bringing the energy, the encouragement, and the fun to every session. You’ve kept our community moving, connected, and smiling.
To our Spicy Kids sessions - pure joy. The laughter, the confidence, the connections…such a special part of what we do.
To our schools, thank you for embracing our space in both traditional and creative ways. It’s always a privilege to be part of your programmes.
To everyone who supported Swim for Our Seas, thank you for showing up for something bigger than ourselves.
To our weather warriors and early morning regulars, the ones who showed up at 6am or dove in while the rain was falling. You are a special kind of committed, and we love you for it.
And finally, to our community and our customers, thank YOU. For showing up time and time again, for supporting us, for bringing the vibe, the laughter, and the life to our pool. This space is what it is because of you.
On a personal note: this is more than just a job for me. I utterly love what I do, and it is an absolute pleasure to host you all each season.
Ngā mihi nui and arohanui

A huge thank you to Hannah for an outstanding season with us ☀️
From the moment you joined the team, you found your feet straight away and quickly became an incredible part of our crew. Your eagerness to learn, professionalism, and genuine care for our customers has not gone unnoticed, it’s been felt right across the pool.
Ngā mihi nui, Hannah, you’ve been an absolute asset, and we can’t wait to see you back poolside again.

Stunning water, calm, clear, and calling your name. The kind of day where everything just feels right…easy swims, relaxed vibes, and time well spent by the pool.
Come soak it all in on the last day.

Left something behind?
Our Lost Property box is officially bursting at the seams…and we’re starting to think some of these items have been here longer than a few of our regular swimmers.
If you’ve been missing something, now’s your moment, come and claim your long-lost treasures before they get adopted, donated, or start their own swim squad.
No judgement…we’ve all done the walk of ‘oh no, I’ve forgotten something’ 🤪
On display until 4pm and then it will be donated to the Kaikoura Community Op Shop
